The method comprises the following steps: reading map data layers of one or moreto-be-discharged maps, and implementing symbolization; establishing a dividing range map layer, wherein the dividing range map layer comprises a plurality of map discharging ranges; setting a map border size, and calculating a scale corresponding to each map discharging range in accordance with the plurality of map discharging ranges and the map border size; and in accordance with the plurality of map discharging ranges, the scales and the map data obtained from symbolization, implementing map dividing discharging. According to the method and the system provided by the invention, rapid dividing discharging of a plurality of irregular charting areas can be achieved.
