Lifetimes of High-Spin States in the $\pi$i$_{13 / 2}$ Band of $^{173}$Re
Noah R. Johnson,Noah R. Johnson,Jack C. Wells,Jack C. Wells,Y. A. Akovali,C. Baktash,Ragnar Bengtsson,M. J. Brinkman,D. M. Cullen,Carl J Gross,Carl J Gross,H. Q. Jin,I. Y. Lee,A. O. Macchiavelli,F. K. McGowan,W.T. Milner,C. H. Yu,C. H. Yu +17 more
TL;DR: In this article, the lifetime measurements on the i{sub 13/2} band built on the proton configuration 1/2{sup +][660] in {sup 173}Re have been carried out by the Doppler-broadened line shape method with the use of the GAMMASPHERE array in an early-implementation arrangement.

alpha -decay rates for 181-186Au and 181-185Pt isotopes.
C. R. Bingham,M. B. Kassim,M. Zhang,Y. A. Akovali,K. S. Toth,W. D. Hamilton,H.K. Carter,J. Kormicki,J. von Schwarzenberg,M. Jarrio +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a systematic study of the [alpha] decay of [sup 181[minus]186]Au utilizing an on-line isotope separator has revealed several [alpha]- groups and resulted in the observation of the α decay in [sup 186]-Au and [sup 185]Pt.

Characterization of the first superdeformed band in the A ≈ 80 region
D. R. LaFosse,P. F. Hua,D. G. Sarantites,C. Baktash,Y. A. Akovali,M. J. Brinkman,Bo Cederwall,F. Cristancho,J. Döring,Carl J Gross,H. Q. Jin,H. Q. Jin,M. Korolija,Eduardo Landulfo,I. Y. Lee,A. O. Macchiavelli,M.R. Maier,W. Rathbun,J. X. Saladin,Daniel W Stracener,Samuel Tabor,A. Vander Mollen,T. R. Werner,T. R. Werner,T. R. Werner +24 more
TL;DR: The recently discovered superdeformed band in one of the strontium isotopes has been identified as belonging to 83Sr from a study with the Gammasphere array and the Microball charged-particle detector system as mentioned in this paper.

Shell-model Influence in the Rotational Nucleus 86Mo
Dirk Rudolph,Carl J Gross,Y. A. Akovali,C. Baktash,J. Döring,F. E. Durham,P. F. Hua,G. D. Johns,M. Korolija,D. R. LaFosse,I. Y. Lee,A. O. Macchiavelli,W. Rathbun,D. G. Sarantites,D. W. Stracener,S. L. Tabor,A. V. Afanasjev,Ingemar Ragnarsson +17 more
TL;DR: There is evidence for enhanced shell-model influence in the 4 quasiparticle region (I=12-16h), and the observed (pi=+,alpha=0) sequence at spin I greater than or equal to 16 h appears to be associated with a triaxial collective rotational band.

Decay of 149Erg+m by positron and delayed proton emission and by electron capture.
Richard B. Firestone,J. M. Nitschke,P. A. Wilmarth,K.S. Vierinen,J. Gilat,K. S. Toth,Y. A. Akovali +6 more
TL;DR: The ..beta..-strength function for /sup 149/Er/sup g//sup +//sup m/ decay is discussed in terms of single-particle shell-model structure, weak coupling to the /sup 148/Dy core, and decay of ..pi..h/sub 11/2/ protons across the shell closure to the ..nu..h-sub 9/2 / neutron orbital.
