CDB: a crowd-powered database system
Guoliang Li,Chengliang Chai,Ju Fan,Xueping Weng,Jian Li,Yudian Zheng,Yuanbing Li,Xiang Yu,Xiaohang Zhang,Haitao Yuan +9 more
- 01 Aug 2018
TL;DR: CDB is demonstrated, a crowd-powered database system that proposes a new graph-based model that adopts a fine-grained tuple-level optimization model which significantly outperforms existing coarse- grained tree-based optimization models and provides a unified framework to simultaneously optimize the monetary cost, quality and latency.
Crowdsourced Selection on Multi-Attribute Data
Xueping Weng,Guoliang Li,Huiqi Hu,Jianhua Feng +3 more
- 06 Nov 2017
TL;DR: This paper studies the crowdsourced selection problem on multi-attribute data, e.g., selecting the female photos with dark eyes and wearing sunglasses, and proposes a predicate order based framework to reduce monetary cost.

A Sampling-Based Framework for Crowdsourced Select Query with Multiple Predicates
Jianhong Feng,Huiqi Hu,Xueping Weng,Jianhua Feng,Yongwei Wu +4 more
- 08 Jun 2015
TL;DR: This paper devise a minimum random selection method by randomly selecting the predicate sequence, and proposes a filtering based algorithm to further reduce the cost.
CDB: Optimizing Queries with Crowd-Based Selections and Joins
Guoliang Li,Chengliang Chai,Ju Fan,Xueping Weng,Jian Li,Yudian Zheng,Yuanbing Li,Xiang Yu,Xiaohang Zhang,Haitao Yuan +9 more
- 09 May 2017
TL;DR: A crowd-powered database system CDB is developed that supports crowd-based query optimizations, with focus on join and selection and a unified framework to perform the multi-goal optimization based on the graph model.
