A new sub-optimal subcarrier allocation algorithm named ratio-based selection(RBS) was proposed based on some previous algorithms.In multi-user OFDM system,some frequently used sub-optimal allocation algorithms probably allocated subcarriers with deep fading to users according to the "best channel gain" rule.However the RBS algorithm avoids this situation by allocating subcarriers according to the "ratio" which is equal to the best user's channel gain over the channel gain of the user next to the best one.Simulation result shows that RBS algorithm can obtain better performance with relatively lower computational complexity.

A new ratio-based selection adaptive subcarrier allocation algorithm

A dynamic subcarrier allocation algorithms based on grouped "Ratio-based Selection"(RBS)is proposed.Operation complexity is reduced by the step of grouping,and power consume is decreased by the step of initializing subcarrier allocation and optimizing subcarrier allocation.At initial allocation phases,some adjacent subcarriers are allocated as a group.Then,the RBS dynamic subcarrier allocation is applied within a group,and the complexity is reduced by lowering the number of circulation times.At optimal allocation phases,initial allocation results are adjusted by exchanging subcarrier groups with bad performance which lower power consume further.Simulation results show that lower operation complexity and power consume are achieved with the propose algorithm at the price of little BER loss compared with the typical RBS algorithm.

Study on Dynamic Subcarrier Allocation for Underground Mine Multimedia Wireless Sensor Network

In this paper, we present a multiband ultra wideband (UWB) system design to realize the interference suppression and improve the bit transmission rate. With reasonable division of the UWB bandwidth, the multiband UWB scheme can improve the spectrum utilization and also the bit transmission rate through the utilization of the multiple frequency bands to transmit the information bit simultaneously. Meanwhile, we employ the offset-stacking (OS) spreading modulation based orthogonal complementary code (OCC) UWB system with SQRT chirp waveform (CW) to resist the multiple narrowband interferences (NBIs), multiple access interference (MAI), and multipath interference (MI) together. Simulation results and analysis validate the efficiency of the proposed multiband UWB scheme in the improvement of the system performance and transmission rate.

Multiband scheme design for multiple NBIs suppression based OS-OCC UWB system

This paper focuses on the subcarrier allocation for multi-user in multi-band orthogonal frequency division multiplexing ultra-wideband (MB-OFDM UWB) system. A novel allocating algorithm is proposed to minimize the total transmission power subjective to a given bit error rate (BER) and user's data rate. The algorithm is divided into three parts, cluster selection, the bit allocation and adjustment of cluster-allocation results. The clustering scheme is used to reduce the complexity of the algorithm. Simulation results show that the algorithm has more than 1 dB gain over other algorithms in power per bit and bit error rate.
