Recurrence of arrhythmia following short-term oral AMIOdarone after CATheter ablation for atrial fibrillation: a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study (AMIO-CAT trial)
Stine Darkner,Xu Chen,Jim Hansen,Steen Pehrson,Arne Johannessen,Jonas B. Nielsen,Jesper Hastrup Svendsen,Jesper Hastrup Svendsen,Jesper Hastrup Svendsen +8 more
TL;DR: Short-term oral amiodarone treatment following ablation for paroxysmal or persistent AF did not significantly reduce recurrence of atrial tachyarrhythmias at the 6-month follow-up, but it more than halved atrial arrhythmia related hospitalization and cardioversion rates during the blanking period.
Tissue temperatures and lesion size during irrigated tip catheter radiofrequency ablation: an in vitro comparison of temperature-controlled irrigated tip ablation, power-controlled irrigated tip ablation, and standard temperature-controlled ablation.
TL;DR: It is concluded that irrigated tip catheter ablation increases lesion size and tissue temperatures compared with standard ablation in the temperature‐controlled mode at the same or higher target temperatures and in the power‐ controlled mode.

Advanced quantitative echocardiography in arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy.
Jesper Kjaergaard,Jesper Hastrup Svendsen,Peter Søgaard,Xu Chen,H. B. Nielsen,Lars Køber,Andreas Kjaer,Christian Hassager +7 more
TL;DR: Echocardiographic evaluation of the longitudinal motility appears to be a sensitive marker of preclinical left ventricular involvement in ARVC and assessment of regional contractility by DTI is limited by wide variation.

Prognostic impact of hs-CRP and IL-6 in patients undergoing radiofrequency catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation.
Kristoffer Henningsen,Brian Nilsson,Helle Bruunsgaard,Xu Chen,Bente Klarlund Pedersen,Jesper Hastrup Svendsen +5 more
TL;DR: In patients with a history of paroxysmal or persistent AF treated with RF catheter ablation, elevated levels of IL-6 and hs-CRP before ablation are independent predictors of recurrence of AF.

Indication of the radiofrequency induced lesion size by pre-ablation measurements.
TL;DR: Pre-ablation measurement of DeltaIMP and DeltaT can indicate the lesion size resulting after ablation in temperature-controlled, power-controlled and irrigated ablation on strips of left ventricular porcine myocardium in vitro, since DeltaT reflects cavitary cooling and to a smaller extent electrode-tissue contact, andDeltaIMP reflects only electrode-Tissue contact.
