TL;DR: A series of novel 2-acyloxymethyl-3,5,6-trimethylpyrazine derivatives was designed and synthesized and the most active one is the 2-nicotinoyl ester 5a exhibiting the maximum proliferation rate (P(max)); structure-activity relationships of these compounds were discussed.

TL;DR: Punicalagin from plants possesses strong anti‐influenza activity with a low micromolar IC50 value in tissue culture, and can inhibit replication of different strains of influenza A and B viruses, including oseltamivir‐resistant virus, indicating that punicalagin is a broad spectrum antiviral against both IAV and IBV.
