Improving functional recovery after severe spinal cord injury by a noninvasive dual functional approach of neuroprotection and neuromodulation
Yanming Zuo,Jingjia Ye,Wanxiong Cai,Binjie Guo,Xian-Da Chen,Lingmin Lin,Shuang Jin,Hanyu Zheng,Ao Fang,Xingran Qian,Zeinab Abdelrahman,Zhiping Wang,Zhipeng Zhang,Bin Yu,Xiaosong Gu,Xuhua Wang +15 more
TL;DR: A noninvasive nanodrug delivery system that consists of ROS-responsive amphiphilic copolymers and an encapsulated neurotransmitter-conjugated KCC2 agonist led to significant functional recovery in the rats with contusive SCI and provides a much-needed translational pharmacological approach for treating severe SCI.
