Robust Silica–Agarose Composite Aerogels with Interpenetrating Network Structure by In Situ Sol–Gel Process
Xin Yang,Pengjie Jiang,Rui Xiao,Rui Fu,Yinghui Liu,Chao Ji,Qiqi Song,Changqing Miao,Hanqing Yu,Jie Gu,Yaxiong Wang,Huazheng Sai +11 more
TL;DR: In this article , a silicic acid solution treated with cation exchange resin was mixed with agarose (AG) to gel in situ, and then composite aerogels (CAs) with an interpenetrating network (IPN) structure were obtained by aging and supercritical CO2 fluid (SCF) drying.

Control of peptide hydrogel formation and stability via heating treatment.
TL;DR: By thermal annealing or quenching of aromatic peptide solutions under kinetic control, the heat treatment is shown to be able to control the self-assembly of peptide into materials with distinct phase behavior and macroscopic properties.

Robust composite aerogel beads with pomegranate-like structure for water-based thermal insulation coating
Jie Gu,Rui Fu,Shaoqian Kang,Xin Yang,Qiqi Song,Changqing Miao,Ming Ma,Yaxiong Wang,Huazheng Sai +8 more
TL;DR: In this article , the composite aerogel beads with pomegranate-like structure were synthesized to solve the problem of combining aerogels with water-rich cementitious materials for thermal insulation applications of modern buildings.

Biomimetic mineralization of calcium carbonate under synergistic regulation of Sr2+ and egg-white proteins
TL;DR: In this article , the authors studied the effects of Sr2+ concentration, reaction rate and temperature on the biological mineralization of calcium carbonate in presence of egg-white proteins and showed that the results showed that Sr2+, which is stable and second only to Mg, could induce the formation of aragonite when coexisting with egg white proteins as Mg2+.
