The presence of p53 mutations in human osteosarcomas correlates with high levels of genomic instability
Michael Overholtzer,Michael Overholtzer,Pulivarthi H. Rao,Reyna Favis,Xin Yan Lu,Michael B. Elowitz,Francis Barany,Marc Ladanyi,Richard Gorlick,Arnold J. Levine +9 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the inactivation of p53 in osteosarcomas directly by mutation versus indirectly by HDM2 amplification may have different cellular consequences with respect to the stability of the genome.

Frequent amplification and rearrangement of chromosomal bands 6p12‐p21 and 17p11.2 in osteosarcoma
Ching C. Lau,Charles P. Harris,Xin Yan Lu,Laszlo Perlaky,Sheila Gogineni,Murali Chintagumpala,John Hicks,Mark E. Johnson,Nelson A. Davino,Andrew G. Huvos,Paul A. Meyers,John H. Healy,Richard Gorlick,Pulivarthi H. Rao +13 more
TL;DR: A combination of molecular cytogenetic techniques including comparative genomic hybridization, spectral karyotyping, and fluorescence in situ hybridization to decipher the chromosomal complexity in a panel of 25 tumors found several novel recurrent breakpoint clusters and 9 nonrecurrent reciprocal translocations.

Chromosomal amplifications, 3q gain and deletions of 2q33-q37 are the frequent genetic changes in cervical carcinoma
Pulivarthi H. Rao,Hugo Arias-Pulido,Xin Yan Lu,Charles P. Harris,Hernan Vargas,Fang F. Zhang,Gopeshwar Narayan,Achim Schneider,Mary Beth Terry,Vundavalli V. Murty +9 more
TL;DR: This study demonstrated that 2q33-q37 deletions, 3q gains and chromosomal amplifications as characteristic changes in invasive CC will aid in the identification of novel tumor suppressor gene(s) at 2q 33-q 37 and oncogenes at amplified chromosomal sites.
Medulloblastoma outcome is adversely associated with overexpression of EEF1D, RPL30, and RPS20 on the long arm of chromosome 8.
Massimiliano De Bortoli,Robert C. Castellino,Xin Yan Lu,Jeffrey Deyo,Lisa Marie Sturla,Adekunle M. Adesina,Laszlo Perlaky,Scott L. Pomeroy,Ching C. Lau,Tsz-Kwong Man,Pulivarthi H. Rao,John Y.H. Kim +11 more
TL;DR: Gain of 8q and expression levels of three 8q-mapped candidate genes (EEF1D, RPL30, RPS20), and ribosomal protein S20 (RPS20) are associated with adverse outcome in medulloblastoma.

Genomic profiling of plasmablastic lymphoma using array comparative genomic hybridization (aCGH): revealing significant overlapping genomic lesions with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma
Chung Che Chang,Chung Che Chang,Xiaobo Zhou,Jesalyn J. Taylor,Wan Ting Huang,Xianwen Ren,Federico A. Monzon,Federico A. Monzon,Yongdong Feng,Pulivarthi H. Rao,Xin Yan Lu,Facchetti Fabio,Susan G. Hilsenbeck,Chad J. Creighton,Elaine S. Jaffe,Ching Ching Lau +15 more
TL;DR: The genomic aberration pattern of PL appears to be more similar to that of DLBCL (AIDS-related or non AIDS-related) than to PCM, while segmental gains and some segmental loss occurred only in PL and PCM suggesting that these lesions may be related to plasmacytic differentiation.
