The effect of large step pressure drops on strained premixed flames
TL;DR: In this article, a model of the interaction of pressure changes with strained premixed flames is formulated by extending previous work on interactions with nonstrained flames, and it is found that, for large amplitude step pressure drops, the flame does not recover for moderate and small strain rates.

Turbulent fluidization and transition velocity of Geldart B granules in a spout–fluidized bed reactor
TL;DR: In this paper , the transition velocity of turbulent fluidization in a spout-fluidized bed reactor (SFBR) was analyzed using the standard deviation of pressure gradient, and an empirical model was proposed to predict the transition velocities.

- 01 Jan 2013
TL;DR: This chapter discusses both optimization and self-organization in a unified framework, and uses three metaheuristic algorithms, the firefly algorithm, the bat algorithm and cuckoo search, as examples to see how this self-organized process works.
