In this paper, we present the detailed analysis of recurrent homologous jets originating from an emerging negative magnetic flux at the edge of an Active Region. The observed jets show multi-thermal features. Their evolution shows high consistence with the characteristic parameters of the emerging flux, suggesting that with more free magnetic energy, the eruptions tend to be more violent, frequent and blowout-like. The average temperature, average electron number density and axial speed are found to be similar for different jets, indicating that they should have been formed by plasmas from similar origins. Statistical analysis of the jets and their footpoint region conditions reveals a strong positive relationship between the footpoint-region total 131 {\AA} intensity enhancement and jets' length/width. Stronger linearly positive relationships also exist between the total intensity enhancement/thermal energy of the footpoint regions and jets' mass/kinetic/thermal energy, with higher cross-correlation coefficients. All the above results, together, confirm the direct relationship between the magnetic reconnection and the jets, and validate the important role of magnetic reconnection in transporting large amount of free magnetic energy into jets. It is also suggested that there should be more free energy released during the magnetic reconnection of blowout than of standard jet events.

Advances in Ultra-small Fluorescence Nanoprobes for Detection of Metal Ions, Drugs, Pesticides and Biomarkers

Increasing trace levels of antibiotics and hormones in the environment and food samples are concerning and pose a threat. Opto-electrochemical sensors have received attention due to their low cost, portability, sensitivity, analytical performance, and ease of deployment in the field as compared to conventional expensive technologies that are time-consuming and require experienced professionals. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with variable porosity, active functional sites, and fluorescence capacity are attractive materials for developing opto-electrochemical sensors. Herein, the insights into the capabilities of electrochemical and luminescent MOF sensors for detection and monitoring of antibiotics and hormones from various samples are critically reviewed. The detailed sensing mechanisms and detection limits of MOF sensors are addressed. The challenges, recent advances, and future directions for the development of stable, high-performance MOFs as commercially viable next-generation opto-electrochemical sensor materials for the detection and monitoring of diverse analytes are discussed.

Metal-organic framework-based nanomaterials as opto-electrochemical sensors for the detection of antibiotics and hormones: A review

Oxytetracycline hydrochloride (OTC) is a commonly used over-the-counter antibiotic, valued for its potent antibacterial properties. However, the inappropriate and excessive use of OTC can result in the accumulation of the drug in both the environment and human body, causing significant harm to ecosystems and human health. Therefore, the development of a fast and sensitive method for detecting OTC is of great significance. Lanthanide metal-organic frameworks (LnMOFs) can effectively excite lanthanide metals to emit long-lifetime, narrow and stable fluorescence based on the antenna effect, but their application in fluorescence sensing is rarely reported. In this work, a strongly fluorescent material Tb-MOF was synthesized by a facile solvothermal method using 1,2,4,5-phenylenetetracarboxylic acid (H4btec) and 1,10-phenanthroline (1,10-phen) as organic ligands and lanthanide metal Tb as the luminescent center. Tb-MOF is a stable material in water and shows excellent linearity with OTC in the concentration range of 0 ∼ 70 μM, with low detection limit (0.12 μM) and luminescence color transition from bright green to dark green during the detection process. X-ray diffraction, UV-vis absorption and fluorescence lifetime analyses revealed that the fluorescence quenching of Tb-MOF by OTC is caused by the inner filter effect in static quenching. Test strips for OTC detection were successfully prepared using Tb-MOF. These strips are not only low cost and easy to prepare but can also be used as portable sensing devices that can be easily distinguished by the naked eye during OTC testing. This study not only presents a fluorescent probe for the detection of OTC in water but also offers a practical method for converting fluorescent luminescent materials into functional devices for OTC detection.

Objective: To investigate the feasibility, safety and the clinical value of primary suture following 3-port laparoscopic common bile duct exploration (LCBDE). Methods: From January 2012 to September 2014, 176 patients suffered from choledocholithiasis were treated with primary suture following 3-port LCBDE and the clinical data were retrospectively analyzed. Results: All cases were operated successfully and none was converted to open surgery. The duration of operation was 92.2 ± 18.8 min and the length of postoperative hospital stay was 4.4 ± 3.7 d. Postoperative bile leakage occurred in 2 cases and these patients recovered by simple drainage for 3 to 7 days without re-operation. All patients recovered smoothly without any serious complications. Conclusions: Primary suture following 3-port LCBDE is safe, effective and mini-invasive, which is worthy of further clinical application.
