Metal and phosgene-free synthesis of 1H-quinazoline-2,4-diones by selenium-catalyzed carbonylation of o-nitrobenzamides
TL;DR: A concise transition metal and phosgene-free synthetic route to potentially bioactive-substituted 1h-quinazoline-2,4-dione derivatives has been developed.

N‐Arylamides from Selenium‐Catalyzed Reactions of Nitroaromatics and Amides in the Presence of Carbon Monoxide and Mixed Organic Bases
TL;DR: In this paper, N-Arylamides were obtained in moderate to good yields from selenium-catalyzed reactions of nitroaromatics with amides in the presence of CO and mixed organic bases Et3N and DBU.

Chemoselective stepwise demetalation of unusually stable Fischer biscarbene complexes by domino [4+2]/[2+2] cycloaddition of 2-isopropenyl-2-oxazoline to 1-alkynyl Fischer carbene complexes of chromium and tungsten
Jinzhu Chen,Zhengkun Yu,Zhaoyan Zheng,Kaichun Gu,Sizhong Wu,Fanlong Zeng,Weiqiang Tan,Xiaowei Wu,Wen-Jing Xiao +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a cycloaddition of 2-isopropenyl-2-oxazoline 2 to 1-alkynyl fischer carbene complexes (co)(5)m=c(oet)c=cph 1 (a, m = cr; b, w) in a 1:2 molar ratio afforded unusually stable biscarbene complexes 3a and 3b containing a novel four-, five-, and six-membered tricyclic core in 99.6% and 45.2% yields, respectively.

Highly Efficient Route to Diselenides from the Reactions of Imines and Selenium in the Presence of Carbon Monoxide and Water
Xiaodan Zhao,Zhengkun Yu,Fanlong Zeng,Jinzhu Chen,Xiaowei Wu,Sizhong Wu,Wen-Jing Xiao,Zhaoyan Zheng +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the reaction of selenium with imines (RR 1 C¼NR 2 ) of aldehydes and ketones in the pres- ence of carbon monoxide, water and triethylamine lead to reductive selenation, on aerobic work-up, to afford symmetrical diselenides in good to excellent yields.

Synthesis and structural characterization of (pyrazolyl)alkenyl Fischer carbene complexes of chromium and tungsten
TL;DR: In this paper, the addition of substituted pyrazoles 2 to 1-alkynyl Fischer carbene complexes (CO)(5)M=C(OEt)(CdropCPh) (1) (a, M = Cr and b M = W) afforded (pyrazolyl)alkenyl Fischer-carbene complexes with an exclusive (E)-configuration in mild to excellent yields.
