Objective To develop two new respirator fit test panels using data from anthropometric survey of Chinese adult workers: bivariate panel and principal component analysis (PCA)panel for meeting the requirements of respirator fit design and testing and evaluate the applicability of the two different fit test panels for current Chinese workers. Methods An anthropometric database based upon anthropometric data of cur-rent Chinese workers was used for panel design. The bivariate panel was based upon the bivariate distribution of the face length and face width measurements, and the PCA panel was developed using principal components analysis of 10 stable facial dimensions (minimum frontal breadth, face width, bigonial breadth, face length, in-terpupillary distance, head breadth, nose protrusion, nose breadth, nasal root breadth, subnasale-sellion length). The distribution of Chinese workers across the panels was used to analyze the panels' applicability for Chinese workers. Results The bivariate panel and PCA panel developed in this study consisted of 10 cells and 8 cells respectively, covered 96.9% (male 95.4%, female 98.4%) and 96.5% (male 95.1%, female 98.1%) of the current Chinese workers, respectively. The distribution of workers across both panels was uniform. Each cell contained 4.6%～21.7% of the population in the bivariate panel and 10.4%～14.6% of the population in the PCA panel. The LANL full-facepiece respirator fit test panel covered only 70.9% of the Chinese workers, It was thought to be no longer adequate for the Chinese adult workers. Conclusion New respirator fit test pan-els based on updated anthropometric database and distributions specific to Chinese workers may be more bene-ficial for applications in China.

Two new anthropometric panels of respirator fit test for Chinese adult workers

The establishment of a three-dimensional model of the human neck is a prerequisite for studying interaction between the collar and the neck as well as the basis for predicting the neck clothing pressure and optimization of the clothing collar design. 20 young men with similar neck type were selected based on the neck morphological classification of 200 on-the-job men; 40 cross-section point cloud figures of necks between the occipital bone and the neck root were acquired by using a three-dimensional body scanner; and then the coordinates of the neck section were acquired by Mat Lab processing. The threedimensional coordinates of the neck section were input to Solid Works,and the neck skin layer threedimensional model can be output. Using the same method a three-dimensional neck model containing a skeletal layer and a soft tissue layer was established,and the relationship between the clothing pressure and the curvature were used to verify the model. The analysis results show the effectiveness of the threedimensional neck model,which provides a certain theoretical reference for the prediction of the clothing pressure and the clothing collar design.

Introduction: In China, respirator is widely used to protect the public from air pollution The design of respirator is based on anthropometric date obtained from groups of people in RFTPs (respirator fit test panels) Meanwhile the respirator-user fit is not satisfied as unsatisfactory seal exist Methods: To solve the respirator-user fit problem in China, this study was divided into four parts: The public head-face measurement and analysis of head data clustering; reverse establishment of head model can be based on the clustering results; using the model, forward design of mask structure can be conducted Results: Combined with Rotation component matrix counting and the relative index, 3 out of 7 representative facial indexes can be used as clustering variables They are nose length, bitragion breadth and face height The optimal number of clusters was 5 determined by Mix-F statistics According to the methods of mathematical statistics, it shows that the main kind is short and narrow which is the fifth in this article By using the plaster replica method based on the 3D print of the facial model, the chart pattern of optimized small-face mask was achieved
