Increased plasma orexin-A levels in patients with insomnia disorder are not associated with prepro-orexin or orexin receptor gene polymorphisms
Shi Tang,Weiwei Huang,Shanshan Lu,Lili Lu,Guohua Li,Xu Chen,Xiaomin Liu,Xin Lv,Zhangning Zhao,Ruisheng Duan,Yifeng Du,Jiyou Tang +11 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that the increased plasma orexin‐A levels in patients with insomnia disorder are associated with the course and severity of insomnia, but not with prepro‐orexin and Orexin receptor gene polymorphisms.

Novel mutation of SLC20A2 in a Chinese family with primary familial brain calcification
TL;DR: A novel SLC20A2 mutation, c.1790G → A, was identified in a Primary familial brain calcification family.

White matter hyperintensity and cognitive impairments in chronic insomniacs.
TL;DR: There are certain underlying correlations between WMHs and sleep architecture that could be involved in the impairment of cognitive function in CID, however, it remains unclear whetherWMHs are a pre-existing abnormality or a consequence of CID.

Orexin-A aggravates the impairment of hippocampal neurons caused by intermittent hypoxemia by the OXR-PLCβ1-ERK1/2 pathway.
Guohua Li,Shi Tang,Heng Chi,Weiwei Huang,Shanshan Lu,Xin Lv,Xiaomin Liu,Yan Li,Yanpeng Wang,Jiyou Tang +9 more
TL;DR: Results showed that orexin-A increases intermittent hypoxemia-induced hippocampal neurons damage by overphosphorylating extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 through the OXR-PLC&bgr;1 pathway.

Encephalopathy associated with propofol infusion syndrome: A case report.
TL;DR: Prop infusion syndrome (PRIS) is a rare but potentially fatal complication of propofol infusion as discussed by the authors. But, brain lesion was only reported once in PRIS, which is very rare.
