Modeling and analyzing the influence of chunk size variation on bitrate adaptation in DASH
Tong Zhang,Fengyuan Ren,Wenxue Cheng,Xiaohui Luo,Ran Shu,Xiaolan Liu +5 more
- 01 May 2017
TL;DR: A general model describing the playback buffer evolution of Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) is built and several recommendations for algorithm designing and rate encoding are provided, and a simple bitrate adaptation algorithm is proposed.

MPTCP Tunnel
Xiaolan Liu,Danfeng Shan,Ran Shu,Tong Zhang +3 more
- 01 Mar 2018
TL;DR: Experimental results manifest that MPTCP Tunnel can efficiently aggregate the bandwidth of multiple access networks and is more adaptable to the increasing heterogeneity of access networks than existing mechanisms.
Renovate high performance user-level stacks' innovation utilizing commodity network adaptors
Mao Miao,Xiaohui Luo,Fengyuan Ren,Wenxue Cheng,Jing Xie,Wenzhuo Li,Xiaolan Liu +6 more
- 01 Jul 2017
TL;DR: This paper provides an unified control plane TAPM to exploit and manage the hardware adaptors' resources, and a dedicated data plane hwTAP to support different user-level stacks, and highlights the utilization of hardware features from commodity network adaptors.
Towards Influence of Chunk Size Variation on Video Streaming in Wireless Networks
TL;DR: A general model describing playback buffer evolution of DASH system features is built, and the influence of the chunk size variation on rebuffering probability, average bitrate, and bitrate switching interval is analyzed.
