Efficient and secure multi-homed systems based on binary random linear network coding

—Processing in memory (PiM) represents a promising computing paradigm to enhance performance and/or energy efﬁciency of numerous emerging data-intensive applications. PiM architectures directly inherit the reliability vulnerabilities of the underlying memory substrates, where error correcting codes (ECC) can help, but they also are subject to errors due to the computation in place. Numerous well-established ECCs for memory exists, and are also considered in the PiM context, however, ignoring errors that occur throughout computation. In this paper we revisit the ECC design space for PiM, considering both memory and computation induced errors. Based on our ﬁndings, we propose an efﬁcient error detection and correction pipeline and analyze the complex performance-area-coverage trade-off space, using three representative PiM technologies.

Complex electronic equipment system has the characteristics of multi-platform, multi-function, comprehensive integration, etc., which puts forward new urgent requirements for reliability modeling. In response to the task requirements of long-term continuous startup under new situations, this article explains the general definition and calculation method of continuous working time index from the standpoint of users, and gives a continuous working time timing truncation verification scheme based on Gamma distribution. Taking a certain product as an example, several truncation test schemes with different producer risks and user risks are proposed. The research results can effectively guide equipment reliability demonstration, design and test verification. 

A Research on Evaluation and Verification Method of Continuous Working Time

A fast multi-target detection technique–using a devised precoding in a wireless sensor network (WSN)–is proposed. The targets are detected by binary wireless sensors which only have one or zero logical outputs, indicating a target’s presence or absence. The goal is to simultaneously decode all sensors’ data in one time slot at the receiver node, where all sensors transmit data simultaneously on the same frequency band. For this to happen, a specific geometric deployment of the sensors is presented in the paper. The concept in this work might have similarities to the bijective mappings in the superposition modulation. Different channel gains and the additive white Gaussian noise are included in the model. The system model is described in detail and the communication scheme to fulfill a simultaneous decoding is mathematically formulated. Then, the parametric solutions to this general digital modulation problem are studied step by step through several theorems, and the optimal solutions that minimize the detection error are found. The combined effects of the noise and the non-perfect channel state information on the signal constellations are both analytically and numerically investigated. In addition, two other detection scenarios with a priori information about the targets are studied.

On the Optimal Precoding for MISO-WSN: One Time Slot Detection of Multiple Binary Data on the Same Frequency Band

In this work, the homomorphism of the classic linear block code in linear network coding for the case of binary field and its extensions is studied. It is proved that the classic linear error-control block code is homomorphic network error-control code in network coding. That is, if the source packets at the source node for a linear network coding are precoded using a linear block code, then every packet flowing in the network regarding to the source satisfies the same constraints as the source. As a consequence, error detection and correction can be performed at every intermediate nodes of multicast flow, rather than only at the destination node in the conventional way, which can help to identify and correct errors timely at the error-corrupted link and save the cost of forwarding error-corrupted data to the destination node when the intermediate nodes are ignorant of the errors. In addition, three examples are demonstrated which show that homomorphic linear code can be combined with homomorphic signature, McEliece public-key cryptosystem and unequal error protection respectively and thus have a great potential of practical utility.
