Ultrastructural observations on antennal sensilla of Cnaphalocrocis medinalis (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae).
TL;DR: The morphology and ultrastructure of the antennal sensilla of Cnaphalocrocis medinalis was studied by scanning and transmission electron microscopic techniques to provide direct morphological evidence that antennae possess structures that can play a role in finding mates and locating host plants.

TL;DR: An evolutionary scenario in which four different paralogous lineages emerged through gene duplications was built, and the ability to bind (Z,E)-9,12-14:OAc appeared independently within three of these lineages, and an analysis of selective pressures revealed sites under positive selection that could have played a role in the emergence of functional properties of OR6 and OR13 in Spodoptera species.
Transgenic Bt Rice Does Not Challenge Host Preference of the Target Pest of Rice Leaffolder, Cnaphalocrocis medinalis (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae)
Xiao Sun,Wen Zhou,Hao Liu,Aijun Zhang,Chao-Ren Ai,Shuang-Shuang Zhou,Chang-Xiang Zhou,Man-Qun Wang +7 more
TL;DR: There were no significant differences between the Bt rice line, T2A-1 and the non-Bt rice for volatiles produced or in its physical characteristics and there were no negative impacts on C. medinalis oviposition behavior, adding to the mounting evidence that Bt Rice has no negative impact on the target insect ovipposition behavior.
Antennal Sensilla in the Parasitoid Sclerodermus sp. (Hymenoptera: Bethylidae)
TL;DR: These sensilla are likely to have roles in the host locating and habitat searching behavior of adult Sclerodermus wasps and provide a basis for further studies of the host location behavior of this and other species of parasitic wasp.

Expression pattern and ligand‐binding properties of odorant‐binding protein 13 from Monochamus alternatus hope
N. Li,Xiao Sun,Man-Qun Wang +2 more
TL;DR: qPCR monitoring indicated MaltOBP13 mainly expressed in newly emerged males, particularly highly expressed in the last abdominal segment of males, and the expression level was significantly higher in 13‐day‐old mated adults than those of other stages, indicating a possible role in finding host plants.
