Summary
The demands of instant video communication have recently increased as a means to improve user experience. Meanwhile, the cache mechanism has become an effective technology used in video transmission so that delay jitter could be reduced to a insignificant value. We propose a novel video service quality assurance scheme in multirelay networks (MRNs) with cache. Both wireless channel state information on the transmitting side and optimal receiver schemes on the receiving side are considered in the proposed scheme. We derive closed form expressions of video streaming for cache-based MRN and investigate the impact of cache length when it is changed. Then, we proved that the optimal solution is difficult to acquire, and the suboptimal solution could be achieved by decomposing the original optimization problem into several simpler subproblems, which include graph and convex optimization. Specifically, we obtain a limit for the cache queuing model in MRNs. Detailed algorithms with corresponding theoretical reasoning are provided as well. Simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed scheme by comparing with some other existed high–video-quality transmission schemes. The analysis also shows that our scheme outperforms others in jitter reducing.

A novel joint transmission and caching optimizing scheme in multirelay networks: Video service quality assurance scheme

Due to the development of mobile communication technologies, multimedia services for mobile devices or other services have begun to be commercialized. In this paper, we propose a method that minimizes channel switching time by pre-computing the user’s preferred channels in the LTEAdvanced System. The existing composition of the Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) using the Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) transfers data using multicast from the Broadcast Multicast Service Center (BM-SC) to evolved Node B (eNB), and with broadcast from eNB to the User Equipment (UE). Therefore, in the case of channel switching, the IGMP Join report should be transferred to the BM-SC, where it then waits for the user’s content to be retransferred from eNB. However, in the case of our proposed method, the subscriber channel technique of priorities is used to minimize the wait times between channel switching as the UE broadcasts its favorite channels in advance. Our performance is evaluated using mathematical modeling and shows that the delay time can be reduced from approximately 30 to 79% in terms of the channel switching time. On Cost-Reduced Channel Changing for Mobile IPTV Services in LTE-Advanced Systems

In this paper, a joint linear pre-coder and combiner optimization scheme is proposed to reduce the multi- user interference in the distributed antenna system (DAS). The pre-coder is designed based on the modified weighted signal-to-caused interference ratio (SCIR) which considers the interference on others caused by the desired user and the users channel condition. And the combiner is chosen based on the signal-to- interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) which considers the interference on the desired user caused by others. The average user rate and symbol error rate (SER) are investigated through Monte Carlo simulation. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms other schemes.

Joint Linear Pre-Coder and Combiner Optimization for Distributed Antenna Systems

Block diagonalization (BD) is a famous conditional precoding algorithm in multi-input multi-output (MIMO) broadcast systems, vector perturbation (VP) and BD are combined which named as BD-VP for short and the receivers' complexity can be reduced by VP at the transmmiter. Furthermore, the performance of BD-VP in diversity is comparable because the maximum likehood (ML) method is involved. However, in order to overcome the shortcoming that multiuser interference (MUI) will be suppressed completely by BD-VP becauce it do not considering the noise, generalized MMSE channel inversion VP (GMI-VP) algorithms are proposed, which much superior to BD-VP algorithm. When increasing the number of users, sphere decoding's complexity used in VP increases with exponential trend and limit VP's practical application. In this paper, low-complexity BD/GMI-VP precoding algorithms using lattice reduction (LR-BD/GMI-VP) are proposed. Analysis and Monte Carlo simulation data reveal that the proposed algorithms help to decrease the computational complexity remarkably, especially when there are a great many users, this advantage is obtained with merely a bit SER loss which can be neglected in high SNR.

An Improved Wireless Transmission Scheme in the Edge of Cell Coverage

In this paper, a group pre-coding scheme is proposed for multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) downlink transmission in distributed multiple input multiple output (D-MIMO) antenna system. The ideal channel state information (CSI) is assumed to know at both transmitters and receivers. In order to evaluate the performance of the group pre-coding, the average symbol error rate (SER) of the Block Diagonalization - Minimum Mean Square Error (BD-MMSE) and Block Diagonalization - Zero forcing (BD-ZF) algorithms with group pre-coding in both D-MIMO and centralized MIMO (C-MIMO) system are investigated through Monte Carlo simulation. The SER performance of conventional pre-coding schemes with BD-MMSE is also given for comparison. The simulation results show that the degradation in SER performance of group pre-coding proposed is slightly comparing with that of the conventional pre-coding scheme, but the computational complexity of group pre-coding scheme is reduced significantly.

The perfect channel state information (CSI) at both the transmitters and receivers is assumed. The average symbol error rate (SER) of the LR-BD-ZF algorithm presented in D-MIMO system with antenna selection is inspected through Monte Carlo simulation. The performance of the BD-ZF and LR-BD-ZF scheme in centralized MIMO (C-MIMO) system are also given to compare with that in D-MIMO system. Simulation results show that LR-BD-ZF scheme in D-MIMO system with antenna selection outperforms other schemes.

A downlink pre-coding scheme for multi-user distributed MIMO system with antenna selection

In this paper a joint design of linear pre-coders and equalizers is investigated for the uplink in multiuser distributed antenna system (DAS) over uncorrelated channels with perfect channel state information (CSI) at both the transmitters and receivers. By minimizing the sum mean square error (MSE) of all users, under a total power constraint, the linear transceiver design is modeled as an optimization problem. Based on the research on centralized multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna system (CAS), the optimal solution of the problem is found. Through the simulation of the average SER, it is concluded that optimal design of pre-coders and equalizers in DAS outperforms that in CAS.
