TL;DR: In this paper, a highly sensitive and specific assay was established and used to measure PS-129 together with total α-synuclein in the CSF of patients with Parkinson's disease, other parkinsonian disorders such as multiple system atrophy (MSA) and progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), and healthy individuals (a total of ~600 samples).

DJ-1 isoforms in whole blood as potential biomarkers of Parkinson disease
Xiangmin Lin,Travis J. Cook,Cyrus P. Zabetian,Cyrus P. Zabetian,James B. Leverenz,Elaine R. Peskind,Elaine R. Peskind,Shu-Ching Hu,Kevin C. Cain,Catherine Pan,John Scott Edgar,David R. Goodlett,Brad A. Racette,Harvey Checkoway,Thomas J. Montine,Min Shi,Jing Zhang +16 more
TL;DR: Blood levels of patients with Parkinson disease at various stages, Alzheimer disease, and healthy controls are measured to identify potential peripheral biomarkers of PD, suggesting that post-translationally modified isoforms of DJ-1 from whole blood are candidate biomarker of late-stage Parkinson disease.

Marine Bacterial Secondary Metabolites: A Treasure House for Structurally Unique and Effective Antimicrobial Compounds.
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors summarize published articles from the last twenty-five years (1996-2020) on antimicrobial secondary metabolites from marine bacteria evolved in marine environments, such as marine sediment, water, fauna, and flora.
Alanine Enhances Aminoglycosides-Induced ROS Production as Revealed by Proteomic Analysis.
TL;DR: The results suggest a novel mechanism by which alanine facilitates kanamycin killing of antibiotic-resistant bacteria via promoting ROS production.
