The new Space Station Module Power Management and Distribution System (SSM/PMAD) testbed automation system is described. The subjects discussed include testbed 120 volt dc star bus configuration and operation, SSM/PMAD automation system architecture, fault recovery and management expert system (FRAMES) rules english representation, the SSM/PMAD user interface, and the SSM/PMAD future direction. Several appendices are presented and include the following: SSM/PMAD interface user manual version 1.0, SSM/PMAD lowest level processor (LLP) reference, SSM/PMAD technical reference version 1.0, SSM/PMAD LLP visual control logic representation's (VCLR's), SSM/PMAD LLP/FRAMES interface control document (ICD) , and SSM/PMAD LLP switchgear interface controller (SIC) ICD.

The design of space power system is the core technology of spacecraft. The reliability of space power system directly affects the reliability of spacecraft's reliability and life. Some solutions to design of space power system were presented. Firstly, the design boundary conditions such as load, orbit, attitude and configuration constraints were presented clearly. On this basis, the design of the system basic scheme design was carried out,including bus voltage design, power supply solutions and power distribution solutions.

In the view of making the full use and distribution of spacecraft power system energy, based on task requirements of the PV-BAT system under different fault models, the grid-tied converter's performance are verified, the function of the grid-tied controller in role of the energy converting are determined, for all kinds of energy conversion in the spacecraft, reference experience are provided.

This study evaluates the functional requirements of the Super Proton-proton Collider (SPPC) beam screen in view of the CEPC-SPPC project about to be built in China and aims to prove the feasibility of using the scaled FCC-type beam screen. Moreover, the study puts forward several feasible updated schemes with extra-cooling to optimize the cryogenic efficiency under the 12.8 W/m synchrotron radiation (SR) heat load and decrease the leaked SR power to the cold bore. The power distribution calculated by Synrad+ is imported into the Ansys workbench to get the exact thermal profile. The results show that the new scheme can restrict the temperature rise within 1 K, with a 30 g/s mass flow rate of the coolants. Such a profile can save over 1.3 MW electric power per turn.
