Role of glycogen synthase kinase 3 in squamous differentiation induced by cigarette smoke in porcine tracheobronchial epithelial cells.
TL;DR: It is found that in vitro cigarette smoke components notably inhibited glycogen synthase kinase 3 (GSK3) and induced the expression of involucrin, a marker of squamous differentiation, implying a possible mechanism responsible forSquamous differentiation induced by cigarette smoke.

Role of glycogen synthase kinase 3 in squamous differentiation of pig airway epithelial cells: A primary study.
TL;DR: Lithium was able to induce a squamous morphology of the cells, and to enhance the expression of involucrin and small proline-rich protein mRNA, suggesting that GSK3 is possibly involved in squamous differentiation of pig airway epithelial cells.

β-catenin/Tcf signaling in squamous differentiation of porcine airway epithelial cells
Wen-shu Chen,Renliang Wu,Xi Wang +2 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that β-catenin/Tcf signaling may not be directly involved in the squamous differentiation of porcine airway epithelial cells.
