White light continuum generation in planar waveguides
Maria Caterina Netti,N.M.B. Perney,Jeremy J. Baumberg,M. D. B. Charlton,Simon J. Cox,M.A. Hassan,P. Ayliffe,J.R. Lincoln,Majd Zoorob,James S. Wilkinson,G.J. Parker,Angelika Unterhuber,Boris Považay,Wolfgang Drexler +13 more
- 01 Feb 2004
TL;DR: In this paper, a low-noise white-light continuum with bandwidths up to an octave is demonstrated by propagating nanojoule femtosecond pulses in planar waveguides operating in the normal dispersion region at wavelengths far from the zero dispersion point.
Stable classification of diabetic structures from incorrectly labeled optical coherence tomography angiography en face images using multi instance learning
Philipp Matten,Julius Scherer,Thomas Schlegl,Jonas Nienhaus,H. Stino,Andreas Pollreisz,Wolfgang Drexler,Rainer A. Leitgeb,Tilman Schmoll +8 more
- 08 Mar 2023
TL;DR: In this paper , a multiple instance learning-based network, MIL-ResNet14, was proposed to detect biomarkers for diabetic retinopathy in a widefield optical coherence tomography angiography dataset with high accuracy, without the necessity of annotations other than the information of whether a scan stems from a diabetic patient or not.
Technological verification of size-optimized 160-channel silicon nitride-based AWG-spectrometer for medical applications
Dana Seyringer,Martin Sagmeister,Alejandro Maese-Novo,Moritz Eggeling,Elisabet Rank,Paul Muellner,Rainer Hainberger,Wolfgang Drexler,M. Vlaskovic,Horst Zimmermann,Gerald Meinhardt,Jochen Kraft +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the verification of a size-optimized AWG-spectrometer for TM-polarized light with a central wavelength of 850 nm.
Corneal endothelial cell protection with a dispersive viscoelastic material and an irrigating solution during phacoemulsification: low-cost versus expensive combination.
Barbara Kiss,Oliver Findl,Rupert Menapace,Vanessa Petternel,Matthias Wirtitsch,Thomas Lorang,Manfred Gengler,Wolfgang Drexler +7 more
TL;DR: During phacoemulsification in a nonselected patient population, there was no difference in acute postoperative corneal edema and endothelial cell morphology after 3 months between a Viscoat and BSS Plus combination and an Ocucoat and Ringer's solution combination.
Multispectral in vivo three-dimensional optical coherence tomography of human skin.
Aneesh Alex,Boris Považay,Bernd Hofer,Sergei Popov,Carl Glittenberg,Susanne Binder,Wolfgang Drexler +6 more
TL;DR: In this preliminary study, skin pigmentation had little effect on penetration accomplished at three different wavelengths, and the epidermis and dermal-epidermal junction could be properly delineated using OCT at 800 nm, and this wavelength offered better contrast over the other two wavelength regions.
