Winnie Magadi,Courtney J Lightfoot,Katherine Memory,S. Santhakumaran,Sabine N. van der Veer,Nicholas Thomas,Rachel Gair,Alice C. Smith +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors explored the association of patient activation with symptom burden and health-related quality of life (HRQoL), to understand the relationship between patient activation and outcomes which are of importance to people with CKD.

Symptom clusters in chronic kidney disease and their association with people’s ability to perform usual activities
Currie Moore,S. Santhakumaran,Glen P. Martin,G. Wilkinson,Fergus Caskey,Winnie Magadi,Rachel Gair,Alice C. Smith,David Wellsted,Sabine N. van der Veer +9 more
TL;DR: The findings suggest that healthcare professionals should consider routinely assessing symptoms in the ‘lack of energy & mobility’ cluster in all people with CKD, regardless of whether they volunteer this information; not addressing these symptoms is likely to be related to them having problems with performing usual activities.
Advanced chronic kidney disease among UK children
Lucy Plumb,Winnie Magadi,Anna Casula,Ben C Reynolds,Mairead Convery,Shuman Haq,Shivaram Hegde,Andrew John Lunn,Michal Malina,Henry Arthur Morgan,Mordi Muorah,Kay Tyerman,Manish D. Sinha,Dean Wallace,Carol Inward,Stephen D. Marks,Dorothea Nitsch,James E. Medcalf +17 more
TL;DR: The prevalence of severe CKD among UK children is largely due to a high proportion of children on long-term KRT, and expanding data capture to include children with CKD before reaching failure will provide greater understanding of the CKD burden in childhood.
