Naturally Acquired Human Immunity to Pneumococcus Is Dependent on Antibody to Protein Antigens
Robert Wilson,Jonathan M. Cohen,Mark Reglinski,Ricardo J. José,Win Yan Chan,Helina-Elaine Marshall,Corné P. de Vogel,Stephen V. Gordon,David Goldblatt,Fernanda Cristina Petersen,Helen Baxendale,Jeremy S. Brown +11 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that naturally acquired protection against IPD largely depends on antibody to protein antigens rather than the capsule, and depletion of type-specific capsular antibody from IVIG did not affect IgG binding, opsonophagocytosis, or protection by passive vaccination against I PD in murine models.
CD1a promotes systemic manifestations of skin inflammation
Clare S. Hardman,Yi-Ling Chen,Marcin Wegrecki,Soo Weei Ng,Robert Murren,Davinderpreet Mangat,John P. Silva,Rebecca Munro,Win Yan Chan,Victoria O’Dowd,Carl Doyle,Prashant Mori,Andrew George Popplewell,Jamie Rossjohn,Daniel John Lightwood,Graham S. Ogg +15 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors show that a therapeutically targetable CD1a-dependent pathway may play a role in the systemic spread of cutaneous inflammation in two experimental disease models.
Correction: Naturally Acquired Human Immunity to Pneumococcus Is Dependent on Antibody to Protein Antigens.
Robert Wilson,Jonathan M. Cohen,Mark Reglinski,Ricardo J. José,Win Yan Chan,Helina Marshall,Corné P. de Vogel,Stephen V. Gordon,David Goldblatt,Fernanda Cristina Petersen,Helen Baxendale,Jeremy S. Brown +11 more
TL;DR: This research presents a novel probabilistic procedure that allows for direct measurement of the response of the immune system to earthquake-triggered landsliding.
P590: preliminary safety and efficacy of bgb-11417, a potent and selective b-cell lymphoma 2 (bcl2) inhibitor, in patients (pts) with acute myeloid leukemia (aml)
Jake Shortt,Sioh Yang Tan,Paul Cannell,Timothy F. Ng,C Y Fong,S. Ramanathan,Rashmi Rajagopal,Sophie Leitch,Robin Gasiorowski,Carolyn Grove,D. Lenton,Peter J. Tan,Courtney D. DiNardo,Ming-Tat Ling,Sabrina Cheng,Y. Liu,Melannie Co,Win Yan Chan,David Simpson,Ai-Hong Wei +19 more
TL;DR: The combination of BGB-11417 and azacitidine with venetoclax was evaluated in a phase 1b/2, global, multicenter, dose-escalation and expansion study as mentioned in this paper .
Correction for Chan et al., “A Novel, Multiple-Antigen Pneumococcal Vaccine Protects against Lethal Streptococcus pneumoniae Challenge”
Win Yan Chan,Claire Entwisle,Giuseppe Ercoli,Elise Ramos-Sevillano,Ann McIlgorm,Paola Cecchini,Christopher Bailey,Oliver Lam,Gail Whiting,N. Green,David Goldblatt,Jun X. Wheeler,Jeremy S. Brown +12 more
TL;DR: This research attacked the mode of action of EMTs by focusing on the “spatially aggregating” areas of the immune system that secrete “inflammatory substances” and “caused injury”.
