Receptor-Mediated Transcriptional Activation by Unliganded Thyroid Hormone Receptor (TR) is TR Isoform-Specific
Remco A. Spanjaard,Vy Nguyen,William W. Chin +2 more
- 01 Jan 1995
TL;DR: It is found that unliganded TR alpha-1 and TR beta-1, but not TRbeta-2, can repress glucocorticoid receptor-mediated transcriptional activation if the reporter gene promoter contains binding sites for both receptor species.

Mechanisms underlying neurological abnormalities resulting from developmental hypothyroidism
TL;DR: A mutant mouse, staggerer (sg), which exhibits morphological and neurological abnormalities of the cerebellum similar to those seen in hypothyroid animals, has been shown to result from the homozygous disruption of the orphan nuclear hormone receptor, RORα gene, which has recently confirmed the involvement of ROR α in TH-mediated regulation of neuronal differentiation.

Differential expression of thyrotropin hormone genes by GH3 cells and the normal rat pituitary.
Carol J. Mirell,Roy Lau,Roy Lau,Miriam Huaco,Miriam Huaco,A. Eugene Pekary,A. Eugene Pekary,William W. Chin,William W. Chin,Jerome M. Hershman,Jerome M. Hershman +10 more
TL;DR: RNAs from GH3 cells, a rat clonal cell line, and anterior pituitaries of normal rats have been isolated and assayed for the presence of transcripts coding for the alpha- and beta-subunits of thyrotropin hormone by hybridization to their respective cDNAs.
