JNK inhibition reduces lung remodeling and pulmonary fibrotic systemic markers
Jos van der Velden,Ying Ye,James D. Nolin,Sidra M. Hoffman,David G. Chapman,Karolyn G. Lahue,Sarah Abdalla,Peng Chen,Yong Liu,Brydon L. Bennett,Nasreen Khalil,Donna Sutherland,William T. Smith,Gerald Horan,Mahmoud Assaf,Zebulun Horowitz,Rajesh Chopra,R. Stevens,Maria Palmisano,Yvonne M. W. Janssen-Heininger,Peter H. Schafer +20 more
TL;DR: Results illustrate JNK enzymatic activity involvement during pulmonary fibrosis, and support systemic biomarker use for tracking disease progression and the potential clinical benefit of this novel intervention in IPF.
Ligand trap of the activin receptor type IIA inhibits osteoclast stimulation of bone remodeling in diabetic mice with chronic kidney disease
Toshifumi Sugatani,Olga A. Agapova,Yifu Fang,Alycia G. Berman,Joseph M. Wallace,Hartmut H. Malluche,Marie-Claude Faugere,William T. Smith,Victoria Sung,Keith A. Hruska +9 more
TL;DR: An ActRIIA ligand trap reversed CKD-stimulated bone remodeling, likely through inhibition of activin-A induced osteoclastogenesis.

John Havill,Kopyt Do, Fasn, Facp, Nelson,Daniel W. Coyne,Michael Weiswasser,William T. Smith +4 more
- 01 Jan 2015
TL;DR: There was an apparent effect of sotatercept on multiple parameters of CKD-MBD, including slowing progression of VC, increasing femoral neck cortical bone mass, and slowing the increase in lumbar spine bone mass.
