Synovial chondromatosis and soft tissue chondroma: extraosseous cartilaginous tumor defined by FN1 gene rearrangement.
Fernanda Amary,Luis Perez-Casanova,Hongtao Ye,Lucia Cottone,Anna-Christina Strobl,Paul Cool,Elena Miranda,Fitim Berisha,William Aston,Maia Rocha,Maia Rocha,Paul O'Donnell,Nischalan Pillay,Nischalan Pillay,Roberto Tirabosco,Daniel Baumhoer,Edward Hookway,Adrienne M. Flanagan,Adrienne M. Flanagan +18 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that FN1 and/or AVCR2A gene rearrangements do not distinguish between benign and malignant synovial chondromatosis, and differentiating these lesions will potentially alter clinical management by allowing soft tissue chondrosarcoma to be managed more conservatively.

Long-term survival of cemented distal femoral endoprostheses with a hydroxyapatite-coated collar: a histological study and a radiographic follow-up.
Melanie J. Coathup,Melanie J. Coathup,Vineet Batta,Robin Pollock,William Aston,Stephen R. Cannon,John A. Skinner,Timothy W. R. Briggs,Paul Unwin,Gordon Blunn +9 more
TL;DR: The use of cemented distal femoral massive bone tumor prostheses with a hydroxyapatite-coated collar located at the shoulder of the implant was followed by a low rate of revision due to aseptic loosening.

Nonbacterial osteitis: a clinical, histopathological, and imaging study with a proposal for protocol-based management of patients with this diagnosis
Panagiotis D. Gikas,Lily Islam,William Aston,Roberto Tirabosco,Asif Saifuddin,Timothy W. R. Briggs,Steve Cannon,Paul O'Donnell,Benjamin Jacobs,Adrienne M. Flanagan,Adrienne M. Flanagan +10 more
TL;DR: A retrospective clinical, histopathological, and radiological study of 41 children diagnosed with nonbacterial osteitis, finding that improving knowledge of the presenting signs and symptoms and related disorders, rationalizing the therapeutic approach, and allowing us to learn about the natural history of the disease are predicted.

Chondromyxoid fibroma management: a single institution experience of 22 cases.
Jagmeet S. Bhamra,Hesham Al-Khateeb,Baljinder S. Dhinsa,P. D. Gikas,Roberto Tirabosco,Robin Pollock,John A. Skinner,William Aston,Asif Saifuddin,Timothy W. R. Briggs +9 more
TL;DR: Intralesional curettage and cementation is as an effective treatment strategy for chondromyxoid fibromas, providing satisfactory functional results with a low recurrence rate.
Hydroxyapatite-coated collars reduce radiolucent line progression in cemented distal femoral bone tumor implants.
Melanie J. Coathup,Melanie J. Coathup,A P Sanghrajka,William Aston,Panagiotis D. Gikas,Robin Pollock,Stephen R. Cannon,John A. Skinner,Timothy W. R. Briggs,Gordon Blunn,Gordon Blunn +10 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that the HA collar may help reduce the risk of aseptic loosening in patients with this type of implant, but longer followup and a larger prospective comparison series are necessary to prove this more definitively.
