Zhongmei Sun,Junxiang Li,Yi Dai,Wenting Wang,Rui Shi,Zhibin Wang,Panghua Ding,Qiongqiong Lu,Hui Jiang,Wenjing Pei,Xingjie Zhao,Yi Guo,Jiali Liu,Xiang Tan,Tangyou Mao +14 more
TL;DR: Indigo naturalis alleviates DSS-induced colitis in rats through a mechanism of the microbiota-butyrate axis, particularly alterations in Ruminococcus_1 and Butyricicoccus abundances, and target-specific microbial species may have unique therapeutic promise for ulcerative colitis.

Zhongmei Sun,Junxiang Li,Wenting Wang,Yuyue Liu,Jia Liu,Hui Jiang,Qiongqiong Lu,Panghua Ding,Rui Shi,Xingjie Zhao,Wenjing Yuan,Xiang Tan,Xiaojun Shi,Yunqi Xing,Tangyou Mao +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrated that mice treated with Qingchang Wenzhong Decoction (QCWZD) showed a faster recovery from dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced epithelial injury, accompanied by reduced mucosal inflammation and attenuated intestinal dysbiosis using bacterial 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing compared to those receiving sterile water.
