Nullifying tumor efflux by prolonged endolysosome vesicles: development of low dose anticancer-carbon nanotube drug.
Yeon Kyung Lee,Jungil Choi,Wenping Wang,Soyoung Lee,Tae-Hyun Nam,Wan Sung Choi,Chang-Joon Kim,Jong Kwon Lee,Sang-Hyun Kim,Sang Soo Kang,Dongwoo Khang +10 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the intracellular delivery of amide linked doxorubicin on carbon nanotube can nullify the efflux of cancer cells by achieving prolonged endolysosome delivery and can induce burst release of doxorbicin in an acidic hydrolase environment and, ultimately, can reduce the amount of anticancer drug by 10-fold compared to conventional effective drug dose.

Control of macrophage responses on hydrophobic and hydrophilic carbon nanostructures
Young Wook Chun,Wenping Wang,Jungil Choi,Tae-Hyun Nam,Yong-Hee Lee,Kwon-Koo Cho,Yeon-Min Im,Min-Soo Kim,Yong-Hwan Gwon,Sang Soo Kang,Jong Duk Lee,Keunwook Lee,Dongwoo Khang,Thomas J. Webster +13 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that the wettability of carbon nanostructured materials may be potentially linked to macrophage behavior to induce or minimize inflammation.

Arresting cancer proliferation by controlling the surface crystallinity of carbon materials without generating reactive oxygen species
Jungil Choi,Soyoung Lee,Wenping Wang,Soo-Hyun Hahm,Ye Sun Han,Tae-Hyun Nam,Sang-Hyun Kim,Sang Soo Kang,Dongwoo Khang +8 more
TL;DR: The results demonstrated that highly crystalline carbon structures can be utilized as a selective antiproliferative agent against brain tumor cells without increasing the ROS level and without significant cytotoxic effects to adjacent nerve cells.
