In this paper, the problem of the networked set-membership state estimation is discussed for a class of nonlinear discrete time-varying systems subject to cyber attacks and time delays. Two forms of malicious attacks (i.e. Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack and bias injection attack) are taken into account to describe the adversary's attempt to destroy/deteriorate the system performance via communication network. It is the aim of the investigated issue to propose a set-membership state estimator ensuring the required estimation performance despite the existence of both the external mixed attacks and internal time delays. By resorting to the feasibility of a series of matrix inequalities, sufficient conditions are provided for the solvability of the addressed state estimator design problem. Furthermore, an optimisation strategy is developed with the purpose of seeking the local optimal estimator parameters. At last, a numerical simulation example is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed theoretical algorithm.

Probability-guaranteed state estimation for nonlinear delayed systems under mixed attacks

In recent years, distributed multitask estimation on networks, where different sensor nodes estimate different parameters, has received increasing attention. This article mainly focuses on the challenge of distributed security estimation in the context of multiple attacks on multitask networks. First, we propose a distributed multitask secure estimation algorithm based on the local outlier factor and intertask correlation in a multitask network. Additionally, a novel distributed time-varying fusion strategy that equalizes the weight assigned to each node depending on the data density is proposed to mitigate further the effect of multiple attacks on the algorithm's performance. Finally, the performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated in terms of mean and mean square error, as well as simulated experiments against multiple attacks. Theoretical and numerical studies indicate that the proposed approach can efficiently repel multiple attacks. 

Secure Distributed Estimation Over Multitask Networks Against Multiple Attacks

Currently, for the reason that so multiple measures were deployed to protect the node of the max degree or betweenness, it was difficult to launch the traditional attack strategy which was initiated to destroy the nodes of the max degree or betweenness. As a result, the neighbor nodes of the max degree/betweenness node were become the first nodes to be destroyed by attacker because the protective measures on these neighbor nodes were generally relatively weak. In view of this, two neighbor nodes attack strategies of NND and NNB were proposed. The vulnerability of some complex networks was analyzed including three model networks (Random, Scale-free and Small-world) as well as four real networks (Word adjacencies, NetSience, Polblogs and Football) by using iterative execution. The results of experiment to three model networks and four real networks showed that the NND and NNB attack strategies almost had the same destructiveness to each of these three model networks, but under the same attack strategy, the model networks demonstrated that Scale-free network was the most vulnerable, while Small-world network was the best robustness.

This paper is concerned with the recursive filtering problem for a class of discrete-time complex networks with randomly occuring deception attacks. A set of random variables that obey Bernoulli distribution have been introduced to describe the phenomenon of randomly occuring deception attacks. A coupled unscented Kalman filter (UKF) is developed where the sigma points of the UKF are propagated by introducing the coupled terms. The randomly occuring deception attacks scheme is designed in the framework of the UKF. A numerical example involving tracking of multiple interacting targets is provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed filter.
