The study aims to investigate the effects and potential mechanisms of lncRNA-MM2P on retinal neovascularization in a mouse model of oxygen-induced retinopathy (OIR). The OIR model was established in C57BL/6J mice. RAW264.7 cell line and bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs) from mice were used for in vitro studies. RT-qPCR was used to analyze the expressions of lncRNA and mRNAs. The protein expression levels were determined by western blotting. The size of avascular areas and neovascular tufts were assessed based on isolectin B4 immunofluorescence staining images. The human retinal endothelial cells (HRECs) were used to evaluate the proliferation, migration, and tube formation of endothelial cells. The expression of lncRNA-MM2P was significantly upregulated from P17 to P25 in OIR retinas. Knockdown of lncRNA-MM2P levels in vivo led to a significant reduction in the neovascular tufts and avascular areas in the retinas of OIR mice. Knockdown of lncRNA-MM2P levels in vitro suppressed the expression of M2 markers in macrophages. Moreover, we found a significant inhibition of avascular areas and neovascular tufts in OIR mice injected intravitreally with M2 macrophages treated by shRNA-MM2P. The cellular functions of proliferation, migration, and tube formation were significantly attenuated in HRECs cultured with a supernatant of shRNA-MM2P-treated M2 macrophages. Our results indicate that lncRNA-MM2P regulates retinal neovascularization by inducing M2 polarization of macrophages in OIR mice. Therefore, lncRNA-MM2P may be a potential molecular target for immunoregulation of retinal neovascularization. 

LncRNA-MM2P Promotes Retinal Neovascularization by Modulation of M2 Macrophage Polarization

The International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation continually reviews new, peer-reviewed cardiopulmonary resuscitation science and publishes comprehensive reviews every 5 years. The Neonatal Life Support chapter of the 2025 International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation Consensus on Science With Treatment Recommendations addresses all published resuscitation evidence reviewed by the Neonatal Life Support Task Force science experts since 2020. This summary addresses 40 questions on population, intervention, comparator, and outcomes, addressing all parts of the Neonatal Resuscitation Algorithm. The summary includes 4 new systematic reviews, 2 new scoping reviews, and evidence updates for other topics. Members of the Neonatal Life Support Task Force have assessed, discussed, and debated the quality of the evidence on the basis of Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation criteria, and their statements include consensus treatment recommendations. Insights into the deliberations of the task force are provided in the Justification and Evidence-to-Decision Framework Highlights sections. In addition, the task force lists priority knowledge gaps for further research.

Neonatal Life Support: 2025 International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation Consensus on Science With Treatment Recommendations

Resume. The insufficient information content of existing methods of diagnosis and treatment, the high incidence of complications, and the growing prevalence of digestive diseases in children in Ukraine justify the necessity for in-depth research in order to deepen understanding of the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying organ pathology with the ultimate goal of improving medical care for newborns. 
The aim of this study is to assess clinical and laboratory parameters characterizing the functional state of the hepatobiliary system in preterm infants. 
Participants and methods. The main group included 68 preterm infants of gestational age 32-33/6 weeks who had clinical signs of severe perinatal pathology; the comparison group involved 27 basically healthy infants of gestational age 34-36/6 weeks. A comprehensive examination of newborns with an assessment of the severity of perinatal pathology and a set of generally accepted biochemical blood parameters was performed. The research was conducted in compliance with the basic provisions of GCP (1996), the Council of Europe Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine (April 4, 1997), the World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki on the Ethical Principles of Scientific Medical Research Involving Human Subjects (1964-2008). The research protocol was approved by the Commission on Biomedical Ethics of Bukovinian State Medical University (Protocol No. 5 of 12.09.2015). Statistical processing of the study results was performed using the STATISTICA software (StatSoft Inc., USA, Version 10) MedCalc program (https://www.medcalc. org/index.php). Comparison of quantitative indicators with a normal distribution was performed using the Student's t-test at a statistical significance of p<0.05. 
Results and Discussion. With a burdened somatic history, unfavorable factors of pregnancy and childbirth in the mother, severe forms of diseases in preterm infants in the early neonatal period are accompanied by clinical signs of disorders of the functional state of the hepatobiliary system, in particular, an enlargement of the liver, hepatosplenic syndrome, edema, meteorism, jaundice, hemorrhagic manifestations, such as gastrointestinal bleeding, acholic stools, and hypoglycemia. Laboratory markers of severe functional hepatoniliary disorders include decreased levels of total protein, bilirubin, and glucose; increased levels of urea and cholesterol; reduced enzymatic activity of aspartate aminotransferase and lactate dehydrogenase. A significant decrease in the activity of the enzymes alanine aminotransferase and γ-glutamine transaminase and a decrease in the activity of alkaline phosphatase and Ca2+ level were also observed. 
Conclusions. The obtained results of clinical and laboratory parameters indicate the necessity to study the main pathophysiological syndromes of hepatobiliary system dysfunction in perinatal pathology, considering morphological and functional characteristics in preterm infants.

Factors predisposing to neonatal asphyxia among neonates delivered at adjumani general hospital, adjumani district. a cross-sectional study.

Birth asphyxia causes hypoxia or inadequate perfusion to the organs of newborns, leading to metabolism dysfunctions including blood glucose disorders.Neonates with and without birth asphyxia were retrospectively recruited from 53 hospitals in Hubei Province from January 1 to December 31, 2018. In summary, 875, 1139, and 180 cases in the control group, the mild asphyxia group, and the severe asphyxia group were recruited, respectively. Neonatal blood glucose values at postnatal 1, 2, 6, and 12 h (time error within 0.5 h was allowed) were gathered from the medical records.The incidence rates of hyperglycemia in the control group, the mild asphyxia group and the severe asphyxia group were 2.97%, 7.90%, and 23.33%, respectively (p < 0.001). Additionally, the incidence rates of hypoglycemia in the three groups above were 3.66%, 4.13%, and 7.78%, respectively (p = 0.042). The blood glucose values of neonates with hypoglycemia in the asphyxia group were lower than in the control group (p = 0.003). Furthermore, the blood glucose values of neonates with hyperglycemia were highest in the severe asphyxia group (p < 0.001). There were 778 and 117 cases with blood glucose records at four predefined time points in the mild and severe asphyxia group, respectively. The incidence of blood glucose disorders in the mild asphyxia group significantly decreased from postnatal 6 h (p＜0.05). However, we found no obvious changes of the incidence of glucose disorders within postnatal 12 h in the severe asphyxia group (p = 0.589).Birth asphyxia is likely to cause neonatal blood glucose disorders, both hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia, during the early postnatal life. The neonates with severe asphyxia have higher incidence, worse severity and longer duration of blood glucose disorders than neonates with mild asphyxia.
