Three naturally occurring host defense peptides protect largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) against bacterial infections
Jianhong Ouyang,Yiyun Zhu,Weijing Hao,Xia Wang,Huaixin Yang,Xinyi Deng,Tingting Feng,Yong Huang,Haining Yu,Yipeng Wang +9 more
TL;DR: Three previously characterized HDPs exhibited potent and broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against aquatic pathogenic bacteria and showed dramatically lower propensity to induce bacterial resistance, implying the great potential of the three HDPs as novel anti-infective agents in largemouth bass culture.

The Effects of β-Pinene, a Pine Needle Oil Monoterpene, on Adenovirus Type 3
B. Qiu,Feng-xiang Wei,J. Su,Weijing Hao,J. Zhou,J. Zhao,Y. Wang,Zhen Qu +7 more
TL;DR: β-pinene directly inactivates adenovirus type 3 and impedes its invasion into the cells, but produces no protective effects on cells, which provides additional arguments that β- pinene affects the virus during the absorption phase.
