Copropagation of two pulses of different frequencies and modulation instabilities induced by cross-phase modulation in metamaterials
TL;DR: In this article, nonlinear coupled equations describing copropagation of two light pulses of different central frequencies in metamaterials were derived and the modulation instabilities induced by cross-phase modulation (XPM) for different combination of the signs of refractive index experienced by the two optical pulses, respectively.

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of optical solitons in metamaterials is presented, focusing on the new properties of temporal, spatial and spatio-temporal solITons relating to the unique electromagnetic property of metammaterials.

Dark electromagnetic solitons in the anomalous group-velocity dispersion regime in metamaterials
TL;DR: In this paper, the formation and propagation of dark electromagnetic solitons in metamaterials was studied, and the authors used an extended Tanh-function expansion method to solve the nonlinear equation for ultrashort electromagnetic pulse propagation with a nonlinear polarization.

Property of electromagnetic solitons in negative-index metamaterials
TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the influence of the controllable self-steepening effect on soliton formation and propagation in negative-index metamaterials with nonlinear polarization.
