The long noncoding RNA SChLAP1 promotes aggressive prostate cancer and antagonizes the SWI/SNF complex
John R. Prensner,Matthew K. Iyer,Anirban Sahu,Irfan A. Asangani,Qi Cao,Lalit Patel,Ismael A. Vergara,Elai Davicioni,Nicholas Erho,Mercedeh Ghadessi,Robert B. Jenkins,Timothy J. Triche,Rohit Malik,Rachel Bedenis,Natalie McGregor,Teng Ma,Wei Chen,Sumin Han,Xiaojun Jing,Xuhong Cao,Xiaoju Wang,Benjamin C. Chandler,Wei Yan,Javed Siddiqui,Lakshmi P. Kunju,Saravana M. Dhanasekaran,Kenneth J. Pienta,Felix Y. Feng,Arul M. Chinnaiyan +28 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that SChLAP1 contributes to the development of lethal cancer at least in part by antagonizing the tumor-suppressive functions of the SWI/SNF complex.
Arginase 1 is a key driver of immune suppression in pancreatic cancer
Rosa E. Menjivar,Zeribe C. Nwosu,Wenting Du,Katelyn Donahue,Carlos Espinoza,Kristee Brown,Ashley Velez-Delgado,Wei Yan,Fatima Lima,Allison Bischoff,Padma Kadiyala,Daniel J. Salas-Escabillas,Howard C. Crawford,Filip Bednar,Eileen Carpenter,Yang Zhang,Christopher J. Halbrook,Costas A. Lyssiotis,Marina Pasca di Magliano +18 more
TL;DR: Genetic inactivation of Arg1 in macrophages and treatment with the arginase inhibitor CB-1158 exhibited further increased CD8+ T cell infiltration, beyond that seen with the macrophage-specific knockout, and sensitized the tumors to anti-PD1 immune checkpoint blockade.

Molecular profiling of ETS gene rearrangements in patients with prostate cancer registered in REDEEM clinical trial.
Nallasivam Palanisamy,Alexi Tsodikov,Wei Yan,Khalid Suleman,Roger S. Rittmaster,Scott Lucia,Arul M. Chinnaiyan,Neil Fleshner,Lakshmi P. Kunju +8 more
TL;DR: Frequency of ETS gene aberrations in both groups was correlated with cancer progression including prostate-specific antigen progression, Gleason progression, and progression-free survival by logistic analysis, pairwise differences, and chunk likelihood ratio tests for the genotype groups.
