Phosphonates as additives in kraft pulping - A preliminary investigation

TL;DR: In this article, the performance of phosphonates as additives in kraft pulping of aspen was investigated and it was shown that using 0.1-0.2% phosphonate in cooking resulted in a consider able reduction in kappa number (4-8 points), while pulp yield was increased substantially.
