Pyrolyzed Fe–N–C Composite as an Efficient Non-precious Metal Catalyst for Oxygen Reduction Reaction in Acidic Medium
TL;DR: In this paper, a non-precious metal catalyst (NPMC) for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in acidic proton-exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) was prepared by pyrolyzing a composite of carbon-supported Fe-doped graphitic carbon nitride (Fe-g-C3N4@C) above 700 °C.

Facile synthesis of a platinum-lead oxide nanocomposite catalyst with high activity and durability for ethanol electrooxidation
TL;DR: Aimed at searching for highly active and stable nano-scale Pt-based catalysts that can improve significantly the energy conversion efficiency of direct ethanol fuel cells (DEFCs), a novel Pt-PbO(x) nanocomposite catalyst with a mean size of 3.23 nm was synthesized through a simple wet chemistry method.

Preparation and utilization of a sub-5 nm PbO2 colloid as an excellent co-catalyst for Pt-based catalysts toward ethanol electro-oxidation
TL;DR: In this article, a commercial Pt black catalyst was modified by PbO2 nanoparticles with a mean size of 4.59 nm and showed an onset potential that was about 98 mV less positive, together with a peak current density 4 times higher than that observed for the commercial P black catalyst in the cyclic voltammetry tests.

Facile Synthesis of Platinum Alloy Nanoparticles with Enhanced Activity for Ethylene Glycol Electro-Oxidation
TL;DR: In this paper, a novel tripod and concave nanocubes (CNCs) Pt-Ni alloy catalysts were synthesized through a simple wet chemistry method to obtain low loading and high active Pt-based catalysts for the electro-oxidation of small organic molecule fuels.
