TL;DR: Snx8-/- mice infected with the DNA virus HSV-1 exhibited lower serum cytokine levels and higher viral titers in the brains, resulting in higher lethality, suggesting that SNX8 is a critical component in innate immune response to cytosolic DNA and DNA virus.
SNX8 mediates IFNγ-triggered noncanonical signaling pathway and host defense against Listeria monocytogenes .
TL;DR: It is suggested that sorting nexin 8 (SNX8) acts as a link for IFNγ-triggered noncanonical signaling pathway, which induces a subset of downstream genes important for host defense against L. monocytogenes infection.

SNX8 modulates the innate immune response to RNA viruses by regulating the aggregation of VISA
TL;DR: It is found that sorting nexin 8 (SNX8) is a positive regulator of the RNA virus-triggered induction of downstream effector genes and innate immune response, suggesting that SNX8 is a critical component of the RIG-I-like receptor (RLR)-mediated innate immune responded by modulating VISA aggregation and activation.

KAT5 acetylates cGAS to promote innate immune response to DNA virus.
TL;DR: It is found that the acetyltransferase KAT5 mediated acetylation of the N terminus of cGAS after infection of DNA virus, such as herpes simplex virus 1, which causes its higher affinity to viral DNA and therefore promotes innate antiviral response.
