Chao-Feng Huang,Daisuke Miki,Kai Tang,Hao-Ran Zhou,Zhimin Zheng,Wei Chen,Ze-Yang Ma,Lan Yang,Heng Zhang,Renyi Liu,Xin-Jian He,Jian-Kang Zhu,Jian-Kang Zhu +12 more
TL;DR: The identification and characterization of RDM16 is reported, a new factor in the RdDM pathway that regulates the overall methylation of TEs and gene-surrounding regions, and preferentially targets Pol IV-dependent DNA methylation loci and the ROS1 target loci.
An atypical component of RNA-directed DNA methylation machinery has both DNA methylation-dependent and -independent roles in locus-specific transcriptional gene silencing
Jun Liu,Bai Ge,Bai Ge,Cui-Jun Zhang,Wei Chen,Jin-Xing Zhou,Su-Wei Zhang,Qing Chen,Xin Deng,Xin Deng,Xin-Jian He,Jian-Kang Zhu +11 more
TL;DR: Results suggest that DTF1 is an atypical component of RdDM and has both DNA methylation-dependent and -independent roles in transcriptional gene silencing, and it is suggested that besides DNAmethylation, siRNAs may cause some other uncharacterized epigenetic modifications that lead to transcriptional genes silencing.
