Apolipoprotein E Promotes β-Amyloid Trafficking and Degradation by Modulating Microglial Cholesterol Levels *
TL;DR: A direct role for cholesterol in the intracellular Aβ degradation is demonstrated and is mediated by the cholesterol efflux function of apoE, which lowers cellular cholesterol levels and subsequently facilitates the intrACEllular trafficking of Aβ to lysosomes for degradation.

Loss of Interleukin Receptor-Associated Kinase 4 Signaling Suppresses Amyloid Pathology and Alters Microglial Phenotype in a Mouse Model of Alzheimer's Disease
TL;DR: It is reported that microglial IRAK4 is necessary in vitro for fAβ to activate the canonical pro-inflammatory signaling pathways leading to activation of p38, JNK, and ERK MAP kinases and to generate reactive oxygen species, and blocking IRAK function restored olfactory behavior.
