TL;DR: In this paper, the non-canonical amino acid azidonorleucine (ANL) was incorporated into the mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) proteome via expression of a mutant methionyl-tRNA-synthetase (MetRS∗) and subsequent incubation with ANL-supplemented media; after which ANL can be covalently linked to alkyne-conjugated reagents via click chemistry.
