Introduction of the Peruvian scallop and its hybridization with the bay scallop in China
Wang Chunde,Baozhong Liu,Jiqiang Li,Shengping Liu,Jianli Li,Liping Hu,Xiao Fan,Houkuan Du,Huahua Fang +8 more
TL;DR: Although it may not be feasible to culture the Peruvian scallops at a large scale in China, hybridizing the Peruvians with bay scallop groups may be a very effective way in increasing scalloped production in China.

Selection of a new scallop strain, the Bohai Red, from the hybrid between the bay scallop and the Peruvian scallop
TL;DR: Through continuous selection on size and color, a superior strain from the hybrids between the bay scallop and the PeruvianScallop is obtained, which is named ‘Bohai Red’, suggesting that the selected strain can be reared in most waters of China, especially in Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea.

Single nucleotide polymorphisms in i-type lysozyme gene and their correlation with vibrio-resistance and growth of clam Meretrix meretrix based on the selected resistance stocks
TL;DR: Evidence that improvements in clam resistance to vibriosis could be achieved through selective breeding is shown and results provided encouragement for the continuation of the selective breeding program for vibrio-resistance gain in clam M. meretrix and the application of polymorphisms in MmeLys to the future marker assisted selection.

Genomic Characterization of Interspecific Hybrids between the Scallops Argopecten purpuratus and A. irradians irradians
TL;DR: The genetic analyses in this study illustrated that the F1 hybrids inherited nuclear material from both parents and cytoplasmic genetic material maternally, and some variations occurred in the genome, which might contribute to a further understanding of crossbreeding and heterosis in scallop species.
Molecular genetic analysis of heterosis in interspecific hybrids of Argopecten purpuratus x A. irradians irradians.
TL;DR: Heterozygosities of hybrid groups were higher than those of parental groups, indicating that the hybrids had increased genetic diversity and high genetic similarity and low genetic differentiation between two hybrid groups suggests that these hybrids were genetically very close.
