This paper focuses on the interferometry phase of an active coherent jamming in InSAR (Interferometry Synthetic Aperture Radar) images. Based on the signal models of coherent jammer, the jamming's imaging results are derived by employing the Omega-K algorithm. By comparing the imaging results of InSAR's two channels, the jamming's interferometry phases for both working modes, the single-pass and repeat-pass modes, are proved to be constants. And the values of the interferometry phases are determined by the jammer's geometry position relative to InSAR baseline, but independent of the jamming's waveform modulation and its background terrain.

Deception is an effective means of jamming against synthetic aperture radar (SAR). The performance of deceptive jamming is affected by the accuracy of parameter measurement and the applied antijamming methods of SAR. In this article, we analyze the accuracy of current deceptive jamming evaluation indicators, propose a new method for evaluating the performance of deceptive jamming based on the combination of typical dominant deceptive jamming evaluation indicators, and recessive indicators extracted by convolutional neural networks, and obtain a level of deceptive jamming using a softmax activation function in a fully connected network. Deceptive jamming images affected by the SAR motion parameter measurement error are taken as training and test sets. Finally, the moving and stationary target acquisition and recognition database is used as a deceptive jamming template in order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Performance Evaluation of Deception Against Synthetic Aperture Radar Based on Multifeature Fusion

After being modulated by a periodic signal, the pulse compression result of the modulated LFM (Linear Frequency Modulation) may have many isolated and sharp peaks. According to this phenomenon, we developed a strip-map SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) jammer which modulated both the SAR's fast and slow time LFMs with periodic waveforms. This kind of jamming can forge isolated and bright points in the SAR image, and may confuse the SAR's image processing. The structure of this kind of jammer is simple and easy to be designed comparing to that of a traditional jammer utilizing the coherent jamming. Also it only needs much lower transmitted power than a noise jammer. Finally, the jamming experiences were conducted by utilizing a railway SAR, and the SAR imaging results showed the efiectiveness of this kind of jamming.

A strip-map sar coherent jammer structure utilizing periodic modulation technology

Various jamming techniques have been developed to prevent interferometric synthetic aperture radar from effective detection and observation. In this paper, a thorough analysis of the jamming effects on correlation and interferometric phase is provided. To derive the jamming result, a general signal model for the interference is first presented and the corresponding imaging results are produced through the range-Doppler algorithm. Then, the impacts of the interference on correlation are analyzed. The non-center located jammer decreases the correlation seriously due to the low correlation of the interference. However, the center located jammer clearly increases the correlation when the input jamming-to-signal ratio is large enough. Finally, the jammed interferometric phases for different jammer positions are discussed. It shows that the non-center located jammer results in large phase errors, while for the center located jammer, the interferometric phase approaches a constant. The effects of interference are demonstrated by simulated data based on the TerraSAR system.

Analysis of the Effect of Interference on InSAR

DRFM (Digital Radio Frequency Memory) is now widely utilized by modern radar jammers due to its high e-ciency in jamming generation. However, its jammer structure is somewhat complex, since the up-conversion and down-conversion processes must be included. This paper proposes a new Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) jammer architecture utilizing Direct Radio Frequency Processing (DRFP), wherein both the up-conversion and down-conversion modules can be excluded. DRFP has a very compact hardware structure which employs Direct Digital Synthesizer (DDS), phase shifter, and delay lines for jamming modulation. Finally, the performances of DRFP are shown by both the inner-fleld test and a rail-way SAR experiment to be rather efiective in jamming generation.
