Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase C677T and A1298C polymorphism and changes in homocysteine concentrations in women with idiopathic recurrent pregnancy losses.
Nabil Mtiraoui,Walid Zammiti,Lakhdar Ghazouani,N Jmili Braham,Sarra Saidi,Ramzi R. Finan,Wassim Y. Almawi,T. Mahjoub +7 more
TL;DR: Assessment of the association between the methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) C677T and A1298C and hyperhomocysteinemia in Tunisian women with idiopathic recurrent pregnancy losses found homozygosity for MTHFR C677t is a risk factor for RPLs, irrespectively of total homocysteine levels.
Association of -592C/A, -819C/T and -1082A/G interleukin-10 promoter polymorphisms with idiopathic recurrent spontaneous abortion.
Walid Zammiti,Nabil Mtiraoui,Eva Cochery-Nouvellon,Touhami Mahjoub,Wassim Y. Almawi,Jean-Christophe Gris +5 more
TL;DR: Investigation of the association of the interleukin 10 promoter polymorphisms -592C/A, -819C/T and -1082A/G with RSA found that they were associated with exclusively early but not exclusively late RSA, which supports the notion of involvement of IL-10-592C /A and -821C /T polymorphisms as inherited risk factors of idiopathic RSA.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: Lack of Consistent Association Between Endothelial Nitric Oxide Synthase Gene Polymorphisms, Homocysteine Levels and Recurrent Pregnancy Loss in Tunisian Women
TL;DR: This case‐control study aimed to determine the effects of some eNOS functional polymorphisms: the 27‐bp intron 4 repeat, the 894G/T of exon 7, and the promoter substitution ‐786T/C, in women with RPL.

Homocysteine and methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase C677T and A1298C polymorphisms in Tunisian patients with severe coronary artery disease
Lakhdar Ghazouani,Nesrine Abboud,Nabil Mtiraoui,Walid Zammiti,Faouzi Addad,Haitham Amin,Wassim Y. Almawi,Touhami Mahjoub +7 more
TL;DR: MTHFR C677T, but not A 1298C SNPs, is associated with CAD and with elevated homocysteine levels in a Tunisian population, with the negative and positive association of the 1298A allele with CAD being indicative of a neutral (absent) effect of the A1298C SNP on disease pathogenesis.

A case-control study on the association of idiopathic recurrent pregnancy loss with autoantibodies against β2-glycoprotein I and annexin V
TL;DR: Investigation of potential risk factors for RSA in 200 women with more than three consecutive idiopathic RSA and 200 age-matched, healthy, parous women found anti-annexin V and anti-beta2-GPI should be regarded as independent risk markers of RSA.
