Elastic scattering in the6,7Li+80Se systems

Cross sections for elastic and inelastic scattering of the weakly bound $^{9}\mathrm{Be}$ nucleus on a $^{120}\mathrm{Sn}$ target have been measured at seven bombarding energies around and above the Coulomb barrier. The elastic angular distributions are analyzed with a four-body continuum-discretized coupled-channels (CDCC) calculation, which considers $^{9}\mathrm{Be}$ as a three-body projectile ($\ensuremath{\alpha}+\ensuremath{\alpha}+n$). An optical model analysis using the S\~ao Paulo potential is also shown for comparison. The CDCC analysis shows that the coupling to the continuum part of the spectrum is important for the agreement with experimental data even at energies around the Coulomb barrier, suggesting that breakup is an important process at low energies. At the highest incident energies, two inelastic peaks are observed at 1.19(5) and 2.41(5) MeV. Coupled-channels (CC) calculations using a rotational model confirm that the first inelastic peak corresponds to the excitation of the ${2}_{1}^{+}$ state in $^{120}\mathrm{Sn}$, while the second one likely corresponds to the excitation of the ${3}_{1}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ state.

Be 9 + Sn 120 scattering at near-barrier energies within a four-body model

Elastic scattering angular distribution measurements of the weakly bound ${}^{6,7}$Li projectiles on a ${}^{232}$Th target have been carried out at different bombarding energies close to the Coulomb barrier. The data have been analyzed for both systems using the optical model ecis code with phenomenological Woods-Saxon and Sao Paulo double-folding forms of the optical potentials. The energy dependence of the volume-type real and imaginary parts of the optical potentials are derived from the best fit of the experimental angular distribution data. The usual threshold anomaly has been observed for the ${}^{7}$Li + ${}^{232}$Th system, whereas there is an indication of a breakup threshold anomaly in case of the ${}^{6}$Li + ${}^{232}$Th system. Results on total reaction cross sections obtained from the optical model analysis for both systems have been interpreted to understand the role of projectile breakup on the reaction mechanism.

Elastic scattering of 7Be+28Si at near-barrier energies

In order to study the inﬂuence of the breakup channel in the elastic scattering of the 6,7 Li+80 Se systems, we have measured angular distributions at center- of-mass energies from 13 ≤ E c.m. ≤ 24 MeV (0.8V CB up to 1.6V CB ). They were analyzed within the framework of the optical model to study the energy dependence of the real and imaginary parts of the nuclear potential. The focus was to investigate the threshold anomaly in those weakly bound systems. The behavior of the calculated potentials as a function of energy indicates that our results are consistent with the dispersion relation. The threshold anomaly was observed in the 7 Li+80 Se system and the breakup threshold anomaly was conﬁrmed for the 6 Li+80 Se system.
