A boundary-guided transformer for measuring distance from rectal tumor to anal verge on magnetic resonance images
TL;DR: In this article , a boundary-guided transformer was designed to segment the rectum and tumor from sagittal magnetic resonance (MRI) images and estimated the DTAV by automatically extracting the anterior rectal wall from the tumor's lowest point to the anal verge and calculating its physical length.

Effective dissecting range and prognostic significance of lateral pelvic lymph node dissection for middle-low rectal cancer patients with lateral pelvic lymph node metastasis: Results of a large multicenter lateral node collaborative group in China
TL;DR: LPND may be effective in controlling local recurrence in patients with LPN metastasis but not systemic metastases, and their prognoses may be comparable to those at the N2b stage.

Feasibility, Indications, and Prognostic Significance of Selective Lateral Pelvic Lymph Node Dissection after Preoperative Chemoradiotherapy in Middle/Low Rectal Cancer: Results of a Multicenter Lateral Node Study in China.
Sicheng Zhou,Dong Zhang,Jianwei Liang,W. Fu,Zheng Lou,Bo Feng,Yingchi Yang,Zhongshi Xie,Qian-Fen Liu +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the safety of lateral pelvic lymph node dissection after preoperative chemoradiotherapy was investigated, and the surgical indications and survival benefits were established based on preoperative characteristics.

A novel prediction model for pathological complete response based on clinical and blood parameters in locally advanced rectal cancer
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated whether clinical and blood parameters can be used for predicting pathological complete response to neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT) in patients with locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC).
Prognostic effect of preoperative Controlling Nutritional Status score in patients with locally advanced rectal cancer: A two-center, retrospective study.
Siyi Lu,Zhaoyu Chen,Ran Peng,Qiuxiang Zhang,Yuxia Wang,Xuemin Li,Ruize Qu,Xin Zhou,W. Fu,Tao Sun,Haiyan Wang +10 more
TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors identified the prognosis relevant to the Controlling Nutritional Status (CONUT) score in locally advanced rectal cancer patients who were treated with neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy before radical surgery.
