In dieser Arbeit wird die experimentelle Bestimmung der Rauschtemperatur und der Elektronendichte behandelt. Die Plasmaparameter wurden mit Hilfe der Mikrowellen-Resonatormethode im Druckbereich zwischen Diffusions- und Freifallbedingungen bestimmt. Die Berechnungen der Rauschtemperatur und der Elektronendichte erfolgten uberwiegend mit den aus der Boltzmann-Gleichung fur Elektronen erhaltenen Energieverteilungsfunktionen. Es treten grosere Abweichungen zwischen den gemessenen und berechneten Werten auf, wenn die mittlere freie Weglange der Elektronen mit den Abmessungen des Entladungsrohres vergleichbar wird. Diese Unterschiede konnen durch eine erhohte Wechselwirkung zwischen den Randschichtschwingungen und dem Plasma hervorgerufen werden.



This paper deals with the experimental determination of the noise temperature and electron density. These plasma parameters were determined in the pressure region between diffusion and free-fall conditions with the aid of the microwave resonator method. In most cases the calculations of noise temperature and electron density were made using the energy distribution functions following from the electron Boltzmann equation. Great differences occur between calculated and measured values when the mean free path length of electrons becomes comparable with the dimensions of the discharge tube. These differences may be caused by a greater radial decrease of the noise temperature and/or by an increased interaction between boundary layer oscillations and plasma.

Zur Mikrowellendiagnostik der Rauschtemperatur und der Trägerdichte eines Neonplasmas im Übergangsbereich zwischen der Freifall‐ und diffusionsbestimmten Säule

Diese Arbeit behandelt die Berechnung und Messung der Rauschtemperatur fur ein stationares und axial homogenes Saulenplasma einer Stickstoff-Entladung. Die Berechnungen basieren auf einer Energieverteilungsfunktion der Elektronen, welche durch Losung der Boltzmann-Gleichung fur ein Stickstoffplasma erhalten wurde. Die Rauschtemperatur in der Schwachstromsaule dieses Plasmas wurde mit einem Dicke-Radiometer gemessen. Der Vergleich der berechneten und gemessenen Werte der Rauschtemperatur zeigt eine gute Ubereinstimmung im betrachteten Parameter-bereich. Zusatzlich wurde die Rauschtemperatur theoretisch naherungsweise unter Verwendung einer uber die Energiebilanz der Elektronen angepasten Maxwell-Verteilung bestimmt und der kinetisch begrundeten Rauschtemperatur gegenubergestellt.



This paper covers the calculation and measurement of the noise temperature for a stationary and axial homogeneous column plasma of a nitrogen discharge. The calculations are based on an electron energy distribution function which was obtained by the solution of the Boltzmann equation for a nitrogen plasma. In the low current column of this plasma the noise temperature was measured, using a Dicke-radiometer. The comparison between the calculated and measured values of the noise temperature shows a good agreement in the considered parameter region. Using a Maxwellian distribution, which was fitted to the real nitrogen plasma by the aid of the formulation of an energy balance for the electrons, the noise temperature was additionally determined in a approximate way and compared to the first calculations.

Es wird uber die Elektronendichtemessung in der Freifallsaule einer Neonentladung berichtet. Die experimentelle Bestimmung erfolgte mit Hilfe der Resonanzfrequenzanderung eines Mikrowellenresonators. Die auf diesem Wege ermittelten Werte der Tragerdichte werden zur Berechnung der Existenzgrenze von Ionenschallwellen verwendet.
