Nonlinear identification using a B-spline neural network and chaotic immune approaches

This work aims at integrating sensing, path planning and control so that the coupling effects of these three components can be taken into account in order to enhance the performance of the whole system. Planning methods which are totally separated from sensing and control normally assume that the robot environment is completely known. Surveys of path planning methods are given in [3]. Pure geometric path planning in known environments constitutes a deliberative strategy. The approaches following this strategy normally have to solve problems of space division/representation, search and complexity analysis of planning algorithms. By contrast, the reactive strategy regards path planning as a local feedback control problem. The task of local motion control is to determine the motion parameters for driving all the actuators by evaluating the up-to-date sensor information as well as how well a predescribed path is followed.

Integrating Deliberative and Reactive Strategies via Fuzzy Modular Control

In this paper we describe a vision system based on the use of both an omnidirectional vision sensor and a standard CCD camera. This hybrid system is aimed at compensating for drawbacks of both sensors and at offering new opportunities deriving by their joint use. It can be used in several tasks, such as implementation of peripheral/foveal vision strategies, stereo vision, etc. The paper describes the device on which the vision system is based and its use as a stereo system for obstacle detection in a semi-structured environment, based on a perspective removal algorithm.

A Non-traditional Omnidirectional Vision System with Stereo Capabilities for Autonomous Robots

Stereo vision is one of the most active research topics in machine vision. The most difficult task in stereo vision to getting depth is to find corresponding points in different images of the same scene. There are some approaches and correlation is one of them. This method has some errors and up to now has presented some methods to reduce these errors. In this paper a heuristic and fuzzy approach has been demonstrated for this purpose. Also the experimental test is presented on 3p robot. Simulation results have demonstrated improvement in compare with neural network method.

After a coal mine disaster, especially a gas and coal dust explosion, the space-restricted and unstructured underground terrain and explosive gas require coal mine rescue robots with good obstacle-surmounting performance. This paper tackles path-planning or collision avoidance problem. The collision avoidance problem in path planning of mobile robots was inspired from fuzzy control concept. The deduction of the path-planning algorithm is followed. Fuzzy rules and fuzzy inference based on experiences is built, it constructed a reasonable and applicable control reactive rule table. The simulation results are presented to validate the approach. And it is also proved that the control arithmetic is available in both static and dynamic obstacles in coal mine environment.

We introduce a neuro fuzzy model for localising a mobile robot based on raw vision data Not only does the ap proach involve adaptive fuzzy control but it also integrates data compression such as the principal component analysis PCA as well as pattern matching in eigenspace A typical nonlinear real world system may be modelled as a control process with a large number of sensor inputs By observ ing the control process in a continuous time interval high dimensional sensor data and eventually some desired control information can be sampled With the help of PCA the orig inal dimension of input data can be reduced to a tractable size Subsequently the data can be clustered into a nite sequence of local scenarios Within each local scenario an adaptive fuzzy controller is trained to achieve the desired performance
