Assessing the Viability of Extended Nonmetal Atom Chains in MnF4n+2 (M=S and Se)
Ivan A. Popov,Boris B. Averkiev,Alyona A. Starikova,Alexander I. Boldyrev,Ruslan M. Minyaev,Vladimir I. Minkin +5 more
TL;DR: Theoretical investigations to evaluate the viability of extended nonmetal atom chains on the basis of molecular models with the general formula Mn F4n+2 and corresponding solid-state systems exhibiting direct SS or SeSe bonding found the proposed high-symmetry molecules to be minima on the potential energy surface.

Photochromic Cation Sensors
Vladimir A. Bren,Alexander D. Dubonosov,Vladimir I. Minkin,T. N. Gribanova,V. P. Rybalkin,Evgenii N. Shepelenko,A. V. Tsukanov,Roman N. Borisenko +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, photochromic chemosensors for alkali-, alkali-earth and d-metal cations were synthesized and their photochemical and complexing properties investigated with the use of UV/vis, IR, 1H/7Li NMR spectroscopy and quantum chemical calculations.

A new 2-(4H-1,3-benzoxazin-4-on-2-yl)-1,3-tropolone: Synthesis, structure, and antibacterial properties
Yu. A. Sayapin,E. A. Gusakov,I. V. Dorogan,I. O. Tupaeva,M. G. Teimurazov,Nadezhda K. Fursova,K. V. Ovchinnikov,Vladimir I. Minkin,Vladimir I. Minkin +8 more
TL;DR: It has been shown that the new tropolone possesses antibacterial activity against hospital-acquired strains of gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria and the obtained substance is suggested for development of a new antibacterial drug.
