Combination Targeted Therapy With Sorafenib and Bevacizumab Results in Enhanced Toxicity and Antitumor Activity
Nilofer S. Azad,Edwin M. Posadas,Virginia Kwitkowski,Seth M. Steinberg,Lokesh Jain,Christina M. Annunziata,Lori M. Minasian,Gisele Sarosy,Herbert L. Kotz,Ahalya Premkumar,Liang Cao,Deborah McNally,Catherine Chow,Helen X. Chen,John J. Wright,William D. Figg,Elise C. Kohn +16 more
TL;DR: Combination therapy with sorafenib and bevacizumab has promising clinical activity, especially in patients with ovarian cancer, but the rapidity and frequency of sorAFenib dose reductions indicates that sorafanib at 200 mg twice daily with bevacsumab 5 mg/kg every 2 weeks may not be tolerable long term, and alternate sorafinib dosing schedules should be explored.

Pain palliation measurement in cancer clinical trials: The US Food and Drug Administration perspective
Ethan Basch,Ann Marie Trentacosti,Laurie B. Burke,Virginia Kwitkowski,Robert C. Kane,Karen A. Autio,Elektra J. Papadopoulos,James P. Stansbury,Paul G. Kluetz,Harry Smith,Robert Justice,Richard Pazdur +11 more
TL;DR: The purpose of this article is to identify common challenges and key design strategies when measuring pain palliation in antitumor therapy clinical trials that are consistent with PRO Guidance principles.

Dual targeting of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) with sorafenib and bevacizumab: Clinical and translational results
Nilofer S. Azad,Christina M. Annunziata,Tristan Barrett,Clara C. Chen,Seth M. Steinberg,Virginia Kwitkowski,Deborah McNally,Herbert L. Kotz,Lori M. Minasian,Elise C. Kohn +9 more
TL;DR: This combination of the VEGFR2/Raf kinase inhibitor sorafenib with bevacizumab, a selective anti-VEGF antibody would suppress angiogenesis and tumor growth, with corresponding changes in correlative dynamic imaging.

A prospective analysis of imatinib-induced c-KIT modulation in ovarian cancer: a phase II clinical study with proteomic profiling.
Edwin M. Posadas,Virginia Kwitkowski,Herbert L. Kotz,Virginia Espina,Lori M. Minasian,Nana Tchabo,Ahalya Premkumar,Mahrukh M. Hussain,Richard Chang,Seth M. Steinberg,Elise C. Kohn +10 more
TL;DR: The objective of this study was to investigate biochemical and biologic effects of imatinib on EOC.
A phase II and pharmacodynamic study of gefitinib in patients with refractory or recurrent epithelial ovarian cancer.
Edwin M. Posadas,Meghan S. Liel,Virginia Kwitkowski,Lori M. Minasian,Andrew K. Godwin,Mahrukh M. Hussain,Virginia Espina,Bradford J. Wood,Seth M. Steinberg,Elise C. Kohn +9 more
TL;DR: The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the biochemical effects of gefitinib on its target signal‐transduction pathways in patients with recurrent epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC).
