Multiple failure restoration in mesh optical networks
G. Weichenberg,Muriel Medard,Vincent W. S. Chan +2 more
- 13 Dec 2004
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors consider resilient design for stressed optical networks and compare existing commercial architectures with alternative architectures in both the low and high stress regimes, and compare them with the alternative architectures.

Cancellation of local oscillator intensity noise caused by the relaxation oscillation of GaAIAs lasers with a dual-detector heterodyne receiver
Gregory L. Abbas,Vincent W. S. Chan,T. K. Yee +2 more
- 23 Jan 1984
TL;DR: In this article, a dual-detector heterodyne receiver was proposed for the purpose of local oscillator intensity noise cancellation over a 3 GHz bandwidth, where the intensity noise at the relaxation oscillation resonance has been successfully suppressed by 20 dB.

Out of amplifier band optical broadcast intra-data center network architecture
Henna Huang,Vincent W. S. Chan +1 more
- 01 May 2017
TL;DR: This work investigates the scalability and power requirements of an out of amplifier band optical broadcast architecture for intra-data center communication and shows that the broadcast architecture is limited by splitting loss and not fiber loss for short distance communication.

Performance analysis and optimization of multipath TCP
Ka Kit Lam,John Chapin,Vincent W. S. Chan +2 more
- 28 Mar 2011
TL;DR: It is found that the bottleneck on the efficiency for multipath TCP transmission with coding is the protocol TCP, and to drastically increase efficiency in wireless network, to use another protocol instead of TCP.
